Delicious, gluten free, vegan options and non coffee drinks! Wish they would get a better vegan cream cheese option but the hummus is a great alternative
We’ve been shopping at Winco for 20 years and even when it’s a madhouse (after work on a Monday for instance) the employees are very helpful. Nobody has ever been rude or unkind to me. The selection is great, and they’re adding more and more organic produce now. (Thanks, produce manager!) The deli and pizza counter are lifesavers as well as good deals. Frozen section is huge and always well-stocked. So is the meat section, and the bulk section is unbelievable, from Jelly Bellies and granola to organic coconut sugar and gluten-free pasta. Can’t beat the coffee prices, either.
I don’t mind packing my own stuff if the prices are this good, and they have a lot of things labeled “Extra savings” that change every week or so. Many of those are HALF the Spaceway prices.
The people leaving bad reviews here haven’t given it a chance. Maybe they were there on an off night; try a second visit before leaving a nasty review. I suspect the complainer in the self-checkout line had a lot more than the 15 items allowed. I also disagree with the characterization of Winco as a dirty store. Being disabled I notice these things and wouldn’t shop there if it was. And implying that the people who shop there are lowlifes is just ridiculous. Other shoppers are just as friendly and helpful as the staff.
My only gripe is there’s never enough handicapped parking spaces. I’m not even sure it’s in compliance with ADA law. (I have the same problem with Spaceway. What is it with these stores that only do the bare minimum by law?)
