This unassuming little cafe is SO AMAZING! I travel across town just to eat here. I can't get enough of everything on their Gluten Free Menu - the pancakes are to die for, and I take home at least two of their scones, almond & lemon bars. (yes, they are ALL gluten free!) I am OBSESSED with this place 💖
Expect a lively atmosphere with a range of healthy options, outdoor seating, and a mix of cuisines that makes for an inviting dining experience.

I’ve had much better tasting and textured gluten free and vegan selections elsewhere. I would not choose this place as my top option if I needed either of those as a serious accommodation. Pricing for the quality and the service was basically awful. My table got three drinks (two small hot teas and a small latte) and three cake slices and paid $45. The latte was up-charged $2 because I am lactose intolerant and ordered oat milk for it. I understand an up charge because the milk is typically more expensive than regular, but basically every other cafe for miles well out-competes a $2 extra charge. The most expensive I’ve seen locally before this was $1. In a perfect world allergy and intolerance accommodations would cost no extra, as people like me can’t really help wanting to live like others and have a little cafe latte that won’t hurt us. When asked if I wanted a box I said I would, as I still had a half slice of cake left. No box was ever brought to my table and the waiter never mentioned it again even as we said goodbye to him and left. In fact, almost every interaction with the waiter was tinted with what seemed like haughtiness or disdain on his end. Maybe because we only came and sat for desserts and coffee/tea and therefore were not “high value” customers. Overall this place seems full of itself and really not worth the trouble and expense to have sub-par cakes and a cup of tea. Hoping this is a rare experience.

Lovely little shop. They had a lot more unique teas than what I’ve seen at other places along with interesting coffee specials such as a squash latte for fall. They serve all sorts of gluten free items such as pastries and ice cream.

Amy's Cupcake Shoppe is a gem in Hopkins, MN, and an absolute must-visit! As a gluten-free and vegan dessert lover, I can confidently say this is my number one spot for cupcakes. The care and creativity Amy and her team pour into crafting treats that everyone can enjoy—no matter their dietary needs—is unmatched. And trust me, as a baker myself, I know how tricky it is to perfect gluten-free and vegan goodies. But at Amy's, they absolutely nail it every time.
Beyond the deliciousness, what sets Amy's apart is their heart. Amy and her team are so much more than expert bakers—they’re champions for the community. Whether it’s supporting local events, collaborating with other businesses, or simply making their shop a welcoming space for all, you can feel the love and passion in everything they do.
If you’re looking for incredible sweets made with intention and a team that radiates kindness and joy, Amy’s Cupcake Shoppe is the place to be. Do yourself a favor and try their cupcakes (and cookies, and macarons—you won’t regret it!).
A cute spot with creative options, homemade treats, and a cozy, bright vibe that makes it a must-visit for dessert lovers!

Waited 45 minutes for 2 omelettes with hashbrowns. Omelettes were small, ham was sliced up lunchmeat and the hashbrowns were so salty they were inedible. The female staff person emptying the garbage went straight to touching clean silverware and then to serve our food without washing her hands. The only good part of the visit was the gluten-free chocolate muffin, however, I will find out in a couple hours if it was actually GF. I would not visit this place again.
With an extensive menu featuring over 100 unique waffle flavors and a cozy coffee spot, this place is a must-visit for fans of delightful breakfasts.

I love that they have vegan and gluten free options and a million things to choose from. Food always comes out fresh, have yet to try the coffee so that’ll be a nice treat. Prices are average / decent but cinnamon rolls are an excellent value at under $3 each

By far the best pizza I have ever had and I have lived all over this beautiful country of ours. Can't go wrong with whatever you choose to order, even the gluten free crust is good. Don't waste your time going to any other pizza joint nearby... It is worth the 40 minute wait or so for the pizza.

We stumbled upon this place recently and I am thrilled that we did. Great selection of grab and go items, including so many gluten-free options. All very fresh and delicious. The gluten-free strawberry shortcake was amazing and the clerk helpful and knowledgeable. Bonus, they have a nice shaded patio on the side of the building. I'm a big HyVee fan, but for some reason couldn't find d gluten-free flour with the other flours. This HyVee is a bit different in it's layout, so maybe they had the flour in a special section. I did not ask the staff.

Stopped here several times now. Its worth the exit off of the interstate if you are gluten-free. It has an entire case of New Generation gluten-free bakery in the lobby. Easy to pop in, grab your selections to go, and get a smoothie.
Celiacs can’t eat here. I was so excited to see that they advertise so many gluten free options. Paid $3.50 fee to get cash bc they don’t take card and then when I got up to the counter to order I was told they couldn’t accommodate me because of cross contamination. Please don’t say things are gf if you can’t prepare them gf. It’s really demoralizing to people with food allergies to show up and be refused service.
Gluten allergy, did not open the cake, no accommodations were made to switch out the cake or get a store credit for a different cake. Over $69.00 spent

Gluten free bread was good.
Coffee was way too watery and in no way silky. The barista brought our coffees to us but spilt some in the plates during the process. Charged a latte for a flat white.
Good music on.

Bread & Chocolate is one of my favorite spots! The drinks are always solid, and the bakery items are fresh and delicious. As someone who is gluten-free, I really appreciate that they have amazing GF options—the GF scones and the GF chocolate brownie cookie are absolutely incredible! If you're lucky, you can snag some day-old cookies at 50% off, and they’re still super fresh.
The only (minor) con is the seating—the tables feel a little too high, or maybe the chairs are too low? Not quite sure, but it’s a bit awkward. That said, I’m being nitpicky because I still love working here or meeting up with people. Definitely worth a visit!
This cozy bakery offers an impressive variety of scratch-made treats, seasonal specials, and unique cupcakes named after inspiring women—definitely a must-try!

I cannot recommend Cream of the Cakes enough. The amount of pros I have to list is extensive, but worth the read for anyone scrolling reviews as they debate trying out this bakery.
- Excellent, top-notch quality: I'm consistently blown away by the taste and art of these scratch-made baked goods. Things I used to dislike, I fell in love with when made by Cream of the Cakes (French Silk pie; cheesecake; etc.) Just incredible. The cakes are as the best cakes should be: moist, flavourful, rich in taste and beautiful to boot. I have not found any bakery in the Twin Cities or beyond that can compare to the level of quality and flavour that this little Lakeville one achieves.
- Good variety regardless of space challenges: While the bakery's space is quite small, there is still a more that sufficient variety of things available to try. There are many different cupcakes all named after women that inspired the owner/founder/head baker Liz, which is fun and interesting. There is FANTASTIC quiche in multiple flavours. There are "cake parfaits" (delicious), chocolate-dipped pretzel sticks, the best cake pops known to man, cookie wedges, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, whole cakes for those who forgot to plan ahead, and even "pupcakes" --- safe, adorable treats for your dog. There's a lot more... Try them all!
- Seasonal offerings: You'll never be let down coming to Cream of the Cakes frequently if you like/need to try new things frequently, or are hoping for something available that's relevant to the current holiday. There's always something creative and different available.
- Good prices and a variety of them too. Yes, ordering a custom cake can get expensive, but the quality of what you get is more than worth the price. Additionally, the prices of things available otherwise is more than reasonable even outside of today's inflation climate. The discounted $1.25 day-olds is a nice touch as well.
- Gluten free availability: For those who cannot consume gluten, you'll find a generous variety of genuinely tasty options at this bakery.
- Personable service: No matter how busy it gets, everyone here is friendly and generally lovely.
My only cons:
- I long for Cream of the Cakes to be able to expand their selection even more. I would so much rather support them over the big grocery stores when it comes to loaves of bread, bagels, donuts, and muffins, which they do not have (muffins on a rare occasion, but not usually).
- Related: space. It gets crowded quickly in such a small space. It's homey, and generally not too much of an issue as a customer, but ideally they should expand once it's possible!
Overall: 10/10 bakery. Seriously. Check them out. Try things you maybe wouldn't normally try, because Cream of the Cakes is the cream of the crop when it comes to bakeries.
