I’ve had much better tasting and textured gluten free and vegan selections elsewhere. I would not choose this place as my top option if I needed either of those as a serious accommodation. Pricing for the quality and the service was basically awful. My table got three drinks (two small hot teas and a small latte) and three cake slices and paid $45. The latte was up-charged $2 because I am lactose intolerant and ordered oat milk for it. I understand an up charge because the milk is typically more expensive than regular, but basically every other cafe for miles well out-competes a $2 extra charge. The most expensive I’ve seen locally before this was $1. In a perfect world allergy and intolerance accommodations would cost no extra, as people like me can’t really help wanting to live like others and have a little cafe latte that won’t hurt us. When asked if I wanted a box I said I would, as I still had a half slice of cake left. No box was ever brought to my table and the waiter never mentioned it again even as we said goodbye to him and left. In fact, almost every interaction with the waiter was tinted with what seemed like haughtiness or disdain on his end. Maybe because we only came and sat for desserts and coffee/tea and therefore were not “high value” customers. Overall this place seems full of itself and really not worth the trouble and expense to have sub-par cakes and a cup of tea. Hoping this is a rare experience.
Chill vibes, generous portions, and great coffee make this local gem perfect for a sunny day or a cozy moment indoors.

Waited 45 minutes for 2 omelettes with hashbrowns. Omelettes were small, ham was sliced up lunchmeat and the hashbrowns were so salty they were inedible. The female staff person emptying the garbage went straight to touching clean silverware and then to serve our food without washing her hands. The only good part of the visit was the gluten-free chocolate muffin, however, I will find out in a couple hours if it was actually GF. I would not visit this place again.

Loved this place! If you’re gluten free - they will take good care of you! My kid has a gluten allergy and they were so careful to accommodate and she was enamored with the food. Service was fantastic also! Great experience! Will make this a regular stop when in the Twin Cities! ❤️
Chic vibes and a cozy outdoor space make this spot perfect for relaxing with a friend, just watch out for the busy baked goods rush!

Over priced, not good food. I ordered a 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich on gluten free bread & tomato basil soup. $12!! It was a very, very small 1/2 sandwich partially grilled then a very small cup (not bowl) that contained about 1/3 cup of 'soup' that was so thick (and partly burnt) it shouldn't have been called soup. We were very disappointed and will not return.
Enjoy a delightful atmosphere with standout dishes and a menu that caters to diverse tastes, making every visit memorable.

It was a great experience! Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was great! I tried the Loon omelet with gluten free toast. So yummy!! Love that they support gluten free and still make it taste so good. Thank you!

Bread & Chocolate is one of my favorite spots! The drinks are always solid, and the bakery items are fresh and delicious. As someone who is gluten-free, I really appreciate that they have amazing GF options—the GF scones and the GF chocolate brownie cookie are absolutely incredible! If you're lucky, you can snag some day-old cookies at 50% off, and they’re still super fresh.
The only (minor) con is the seating—the tables feel a little too high, or maybe the chairs are too low? Not quite sure, but it’s a bit awkward. That said, I’m being nitpicky because I still love working here or meeting up with people. Definitely worth a visit!
Charming diner vibe perfect for casual breakfasts, evoking nostalgic mornings filled with coffee and local chatter, while being refreshingly clean and quick.

Having celiac and a sweet tooth is hard, and I will flip a U-turn when I see a gluten friendly bakery or treat shop. That's exactly what I did today while driving home on Dale St and passing by Nikolette's. I'm glad I did!!! Super friendly person behind the counter who made good suggestions for what to try. It's too bad you're so close to my house because now I have to start budgeting for macarons 😂
My mom ordered a gluten free cake for my birthday! I don’t have any sensitivities but my mom does! So Im happy that we were able to share this wonderful cake together :)

Delicious pastries! My favorites are the monkey bread and the seasonal kougin amann. For summer, they had a s'mores one, and it was divine. Also recommend the gluten-free chocolate cookie by the register. 4/6 times I've been there it's been sold out. Pick one up if you're lucky enough to spot it!
