The food was absolutely fantastic – but the service was even better! As someone with food allergies, I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The waitress asked about any allergies already during the reservation and later pointed out exactly what I could safely eat from the menu. It's especially recommendable for people with celiac disease. A truly wonderful experience!

Came in for a quick lunch. My partner ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas Gluten free and I had the pork tacos, beef brisket lollipops and the chips. Atmosphere was nice and chill. Quiet for a Saturday lunch time but there was a lot going on outside. Service was quick and easy. The server helped my partner who had a bee sting which was much appreciated. Food came out fast and was temperature hot. The chips were the best thick cut pub chips I’ve had in a while. Good amount of salt and perfect amount of aioli. The fish was cooked well and wasn’t dry. The brisket lollipops had great seasoning and flavours were sweet and fragrant. The corn tortillas on the tacos did fall apart more than I’d like but everything else for the taco was delicious. The salsa and mole were delicious with the pork. Haven’t had a bad meal at The Kestrel to date. Thanks team

Food was amazing! I wish I'd remembered to take some photos. The only let down was service was a little slow- as in getting drinks initially and then the tables weren't cleared at all...but the food came out quickly and I'd go back again simply for the food options! 4 of us are coeliac and there were so many dishes that were either gluten free or could be modified for us 😍

Superb vegetarian food and lots of it. My "Chickun" burger was large and delicious with a generous helping of salad on the side. The polenta chips were crispy perfection and my partner described her gluten free pizza as the best she'd ever eaten. Great choice of dishes, excellent, friendly service and we also loved the drinks. We'll be going back... often.

Visited Hideaway for a bottomless with the girls for my birthday and absolutely loved it!! The food was amazing and the drinks were top notch! All of us left feeling very full either with drinks (wine, prosseco, cider or mimosas) or food! Very conscious of any dietary requirements and were able to adapt food where need - great for gluten free and vege/vegan! Food was delicious and drinks were plenty strong which made the bottomless all the more worth it! Can’t forget to mention lil buddy Jax who was nothing short of a friendly face to everyone! 10/10 would recommend to friends and come back - even just for a drink on a night out! The location is a bit hidden but still easy to locate and find our way in with plenty of signage on the main road!

I had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant during a long layover at the airport. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing brunch, with a delicious selection of vegetarian and vegan options that really hit the spot. The atmosphere was incredibly comfortable, making it an ideal place to wait during my connection. The customer service was flawless—Mehak and Hardeep were so patient, friendly, and helpful. They were especially careful when I mentioned that I'm intolerant to lactose and gluten, ensuring my meal was safe and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return!

I have been a regular at woknnoodle mt Eden for many years now and the food is always outstanding and well priced for the size of portions. The staff always have a warm welcome and will go out of their way to accommodate requests. They also offer gluten free, oil free & low carb options

Well, 4.2 stars is definitely much too less for that service and food you get here. All in all I’ve had the lamb shank gluten-free and my wife had the beyond burger vegan. Both things were very well prepared. The house wine and lamb is from NZ production and the meat was falling off the bone mate. So delicious I will dream about that. My wife was happy with her burger as well. The Pinot Noir was a good taste. Prices are absolutely fair for the quality they deliver. Keep up the good work guys, we‘ll come back for a good meal when we‘re back in NZ. 👌💪👍

I ordered the Miso ramen with 'Gluten Free Vege Noodles,' which turned out to be grated carrot and zucchini... not what I pictured when reading 'noodles' on the menu. Both mine and my partners food was lukewarm and after telling the waitress she took the food away. However, when leaving I was told that I needed to pay full price for the meals even though I did not eat more than two mouthfuls of it. The service was terrible, the woman who took the payment spoke very rudely to me and the food was well below average.

Tried to dine there tonight after looking at menu that said they cater for allergies and had build your own pizza etc. We arrived and once I asked what I could eat off menu as a ceiliac person all the food I asked if it was safe for me the answer I got was IT SHOULD BE. I asked her to check with chef and that's when she came back saying that he not want to serve me and can be 100% and he not sure what I can eat. If your going to offer food options and you offer gluten free if would be a good idea to actually have food safe for me to eat. We had ordered a drink and once they realized that I was Har to cater to there was no more service for 20 minutes and when we decided to leave and pay for drinks she then asked if I still wanted to order. Sorry but I need to say they are poorly equipped to run or understand food requirements.

Best gluten free pizza I’ve ever eaten!! I’ve been gluten free for over 10 years and this was honestly the most amazing gluten free base on a pizza I have ever had. So fluffy and full of flavour!! 10/10 reccommend!! And everything else that went with it! The sides, the dips, the drinks and the atmosphere all 10/10. Could recommend higher!! Will 10000% be returning asap!

As someone with coeliac disease, 100% recommend this restaurant. I didn’t even have to explain what coeliac disease was. They already knew they were very accommodating and understanding. They had things to share that were gluten-free, starters, entrées, and even the desserts! They always came and checked on us, even though it got really busy . I will 100% be coming back!

We were lucky to sneak in a late dinner here tonight and it was such a lovely way to end my trip to New Zealand. Our server, Harriet, was very knowledgeable about gluten free options on the menu and took great care of us despite our late arrival. We tried the salt and pepper squid, green goddess salad, steamed fish, the filet, and Eton mess. Everything was excellent and I would return happily!

Really wonderful meal. A variety of vegetable dishes in addition to meat and seafood. Catered very well to coeliacs/gluten-free with both the waitress and manager double checking which was reassuring. Delicious gluten-free cheesecake. Well worth the drive from Auckland CBD.

Staff so friendly and polite. Can do all pastas gluten free and have gluten free pizza bases. Great for coeliacs and those with a gluten intolerance. Makes all the difference these options are included so thank you! Really enjoyed the gf pasta I had.

Food was great. Friendly service. On the expensive side for what you get - a $20+ hamburger, but fries are extra?! About average time to wait for the food. If you're worried about parking, there's free parking in the basement. Gluten and dairy free options available.

I went to Teed Street Larder with my family on Saturday 22 February 2025. I appreciate that we are difficult customers, as my sister has coeliac disease, and I have an egg allergy. Teed Street Larder had a good gluten free offering. However, the staff had difficulty assisting me with my egg allergy. I informed them of my egg allergy, and asked if I could have one of their dishes on the menu. The staff member replied by telling me to choose something else, and brought another staff member over to confirm this. Neither staff member gave me any alternative options. We were given some time to decide. I then suggested another dish. The staff member initially confirmed that the dish was egg free, but later returned to tell me that it was not egg free, and that it would need to be modified. Please train your staff in the contents of each dish, so that they can confidently tell customers whether the dish does or does not meet their dietary requirement, and can confidently offer alternatives if required.

We booked Coco’s private room for a hens party. The staff were fantastic, set menu was delicious and effortlessly catered to dietary requirements including gluten free and coeliac. The private area was completely separate, we had our own bathroom, iPad loaded with Spotify, a huge speaker and disco lights which made the night so fun. The staff were so accommodating and let us enjoy the area for such a long time - if you’re after a gorgeous place, right on K Road, with fantastic food, and great cocktails for a private event - definitely get in touch with them!

First time diners, wanted to support local and give it ago. Managed to get a table as a walk in. Limited menu offerings for desert and cocktails. Had a gluten free option which was nice but quite small. I'm guessing it's designed to follow other dishes on the menu. Cocktail was refreshing. Would be back to try dinner.

Came here for the gluten free fish and chips and highly recommend. The manager explained how they are prepared and offered a Belgian gluten free beer to go with it. Both were excellent.
