This place is now 100 percent gluten free. I confirmed Celiac safe with the server. No gluten in entire restaurant and they are cautious with product sources. To top it all off, they make their own honey on their rooftop. My husband and I were so excited to discover this lovely restaurant. The staff is also amazing. Support this restaurant, we need places like this to stay open and thrive. Mahalo and Merci Bistro Hortus!

I’m not someone who normally reviews, but our experience was so wonderful I had to do it! My 3yo daughter and I enjoyed a delicious lunch here and our server, Pascal, went above and beyond to make our experience so special. He was so kind and accommodating and made it his mission to put a smile on my daughter’s face! And a gluten-free menu was so nice too! I cannot express enough what a great experience we had together here and I highly recommend dining here! Especially with kids!!! Food was great and space is very charming too!

My husband and I easily made a reservation online. I ordered a drink and we shared a pasta dish. The drink and the food were delicious. We eat gluten free and the buns they served were very good. Our waitress was wonderful!

Boxing Day and Quebec City is so festive . A look inside this quaint restaurant beckoned us. There exists a warmth upon entering and the host is absolutely delightful. She helped us select gluten free options and was so cheerful despite the hectic pace required to serve patrons. The food is also outstanding. This family owned restaurant might be the best kept secret in all of Quebec City.
Equilibre is the only caterer that allows each guest to choose their meal... (elsewhere, you must choose the same meal for a minimum of 5 people).
Everything is tasty, well presented and well balanced... precisely. There are also gluten-free, vegan, etc. choices. and they take allergies into account. The service is impeccable, from receipt of the order to delivery!!
Another thing: all containers are recyclable and today, this has become very, very important.
