Went here for a brunch meal, it was very busy so be prepared to come back later when it quietens down. We had the pancakes and Waffles and everything is gluten free and so delicious! Highly recommend

This cafe is not only stunning but the food tastes amazing and is very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely and so was the atmosphere. It was always difficult finding a cafe to accomodate a gluten free and vegetarian but this place ticked all the boxes. Would highly recommend!

I emailed them about my allergies and about cross contamination and they emailed back "Hello, Paulina! We have several gluten-free and vegan options on the menu. From tapioca, salads, smoothie bowls, shakshuka, pancakes, etc. We'd also like to inform you that all toasts can be served on gluten-free bread or with a baked sweet potato base instead of traditional bread. Great for ordering and picking up. Lots of people on Saturday mornings. There's even a long line. Very good bread, cakes and savory snacks but... There are no cheap items, only gluten and lactose free.

My family and I all agreed that this was the best meal we had during our entire trip to Portugal. Sooo many creative flavor pairings. Options for veggie and gluten-free eaters, which is important to us. Our table wasn't ready at our reservation time, but we didn't mind waiting outside for a few minutes and watching the local nightlife. They even offered us shots on the house of Beirão which was super sweet of them and also my new favorite liqueur. Thank you!

I was so looking forward to come to this place, after having been to other Jose Avillez restaurants. This one was such a disappointment! The service was bad from start to finish, started off with a grumpy lady waiter that couldn’t be bothered to wait for us to choose, even though we had a coeliac child and needed to make sure what was ordered was safe. We were then served by another waiter, but it turns out half our order was already sent to the kitchen. Our food came in different times and the steak was cold. Two starters ordered first arrived after the main meals and again( one of them was cold. We sent the steak back, but everyone else had eaten their meal by the time it returned without even an apology. I think Jose Avillez should ensure the standard of his restaurants remain high, otherwise people will come out disappointed and write reviews similar to the recent ones here.

A perfect place to make a stop and recharge your batteries. They have gluten-free options, they replace normal bread with gluten-free bread and this is wonderful for celiacs. The attention of the staff is wonderful. The place is not very big, I recommend making a reservation. We had a salad and two sandwiches and everything was impressive. Totally recommended.
