Every place that can create brownies without gluten or dairy, and which still taste delicious, deserves five stars. In addition, staff was super friendly and the interior is modern and up to date. The cortado coffee is great as well. Recommended. The washrooms were clean. They ate located in the basement and are not wheelchair accessible.

I was hesitant to try this place because I'm English and my french is terrible at best, however, the waiter spoke English with me. I didn't ask him to but there is no hiding how terrible my french is and I did appreciate it even though I was prepared to power through. I've had some bad experiences in restaurants in Quebec but this guy was kind and didn't make me feel stupid for trying. I was also nervous because I'm a newly diagnosed celiac and hate feeling like I'm being a bother about my food,however, i get so sick if I eat wrong that I truly cant risk it. I have had many bad experiences eating out as a celiac, either with hidden gluten in my food or snotty waiters who clearly think I'm lying. This place was not like that at all. This place was higly rated as celiac friendly and boy are they ever! They have a special section in their main menu for gluten free options. The waiter was very kind and took me seriously. They changed out the cutlery and use different everything for celiacs to avoid cross contamination. I was immediately put at ease. Between myself and my two kids we all had different dishes and we all loved what we had. The gluten free garlic bread was so incredibly good i wish I had more! If I'm ever in the area again this place would be on my must visit list for any meal.

Came in today to pick up a handful of pastries for my grandmother. I have been here many times and always had a very pleasant experience. Today was an exception. The entire store was empty. The woman at the pastry counter was a disgrace. She was unreasonably rude and had us stand at the counter and wait for her to finish eating infront of us. There was another woman at the counter sitting in a chair who acknowledged us, but also chose to not help us. It is - or was - a tradition for us to visit Pastel and Coco on our way to see family, about 4 times a year. I will admit that the woman's mood seemed to drastically change when she realized that we do not speak French. I struggle to understand why that would permit her to treat a paying customer so poorly. It's a shame. Vegan and gluten free pastries of this quality are hard to find, but polite service isn't. Disappointing.

Love this place. It's like a warm refreshing hug in an otherwise dreary part of town. The service is friendly and they even accommodate me by making me my favorite sandwich on gluten free bread. Great spot to work or just sip a latte and enjoy the posh decorated space.

I visited this restaurant because several people recommended it to me. However, having celiac disease, the waitress told me that the two types of pancakes (buckwheat and with gluten) were cooked on the same plate and therefore the risk of cross contamination is enormous. This restaurant is therefore not recommended for people with celiac disease, contrary to what some comments might indicate. On the other hand, the non-celiac people accompanying me loved their meal. So I highly recommend a visit!

Cute pub style place, typical pub food with normal portions not the usual huge portions we always regret..lol gluten free options except buns for burgers.. but pretty tasty burger none the less. Would be a nice place to have live tunes

September 2024 I find that the menu could offer rice noodles as an alternative for gluten-free folks (at a small additional cost). It's really no more complicated for you and it would expand the meal options for these people. And could bring you new customers... Constructive note: the menu should be reworked to be much more readable. I was not the only one in my table of 8 people who had difficulty reading the description of the chosen meal, which is written in VERY pale white on a completely black background. Let's say that black writing on a white background would have been MUCH more readable. In addition, in the evening, the light is more subdued. I gave it a 2 for the atmosphere because of that. When you have to photograph part of the menu to be able to read it, your meal is off to a bad start. I returned in February 2024. Very good service, and even a warm welcome from a friendly (and very chic!) host. The food overall was good (there were 8 of us) but the steak was just rubbish so I don't recommend it. We were a group of 6, on a Tuesday evening so not too many people. I had a plate of curried mussels. I liked it and what's more, it's on special on Tuesdays. The service was very good and the server very friendly. I will definitely go back.

Highlight of our golf club membership: fantastic food and service. The food is gluten free (literally the entire menu) and I just got recommended an incredible wine to go with my prime rib dinner (tonight’s special). It feels like a fine dining experience at a reasonable price. 10/10 recommend whether you golf or not.
