A really lovely place to meet friends for a coffee. They also cater for a gluten free diet and are very careful about cross contamination. Food and drinks are delicious ans served by very helpful and friendly staff. My go to place when meeting with friends
Yummy food and great service. Choose your base, crepes, American Pancakes, omelette, savoury or sweet, gluten free ,vegan. Was able to choose high protein meal enabling me to stay on my eating plan whilst out. Gorgeous food and great service. Will definately be back
Great for gluten-free people, plenty of options! Portions could be a bit bigger. I was still hungry after the main with a side. I also like the fact that you can see the kcal on the menu and thereby make an informed choice!
Staff were very friendly, service was very quick.
But. The pie was lackluster. The crust was not good, it's apparently gluten free and seems to make a big difference.
The filling was great, but didn't make up for the crust. Thick and grainy crust which kind of hid the small quantity of filling inside....
'Bacon roll and a flat white, please.'
'Is that a sandwich or a brioche?'
'Umm,' looks at menu, which actually says bacon *butty*. 'Sandwich, please.'
'Brown or white bread?'
'Brown.'
'Gluten free?'
'No.'
'Any other allergies?'
'Is that back bacon?'
'Blue milk?'
'Full caffeine?'
Me: 'Is there any tomato sauce?'
We had chicken fajitas. The chicken was a little bit overcooked but overall it wasnāt bad. My Husband ordered a gluten-free beer. It was the best heās had on our travels. I think it was called the stinking hen. The best part of the whole experience was the Romanian waiter/owner not quite sure. He was entertaining the whole time taught us a lot of about the Romanian culture and general world history šgood food and much laughter What else can you ask for while dining?
Enjoyed a wonderful pizza from here last week finished with a sticky toffee pudding which was delicious! Also ordered a gluten free pizza too which was excellent. Going back tonight for more š
Please don't judge Totton by this Chippy. The standard portion of chips is the only size available at £3.20 at the time of my visit. The food is good but not special .The prices aren't family friendly. The staff here are famously miserable. If you want to eat in then this is your best choice. They offer gluten free days, which presumably is the day they change the oil? If you need to feed the family go to the Totton fish bar in the precinct. Not bad just not for me.
I have coeliac disease, so I miss all the beautiful food flavours and textures from my past.
I bought the chicken, ham and leek, gluten free pie...... Oh My ! The best GF pie ever. Thank you so much Pirate Pasties. You made me feel so happy X
My partner and I had dinner here with my parents as the restaurant is ideally located just 5mins walk from Mayflower theatre. We always struggle to find a restaurant with plenty of options as my parents are vegetarian and celiac respectively but that was not a problem at La Tavernetta. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cosy and felt authentic and we all had a lovely experience. The owner took personally tended to our table and his service was so pleasant and charming, it was lovely to hear about the history of this family owned business. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality, reasonably priced meal (lunch or dinner) and we will definitely come again if in the area.
š“ A Hidden Gem in Southamptonās Ocean Village
If youāre seeking a vibrant dining experience with a tropical flair, look no further than Banana Wharf in Ocean Village. This waterfront restaurant offers a delightful blend of contemporary cuisine, stunning marina views, and a relaxed atmosphere that transports you to sunnier climes.
š½ļø Culinary Delights
Banana Wharfās menu is a testament to culinary creativity, fusing oriental and tropical flavors with classic seafood dishes. Standout offerings include the aromatic Nasi Goreng with honey chicken and tiger prawns, and the succulent half-lobster grilled in garlic butter. Vegetarians and gluten-free diners are well-catered for, with options like gluten-free pizzas and Thai Green Curry
Coffee very good ...gluten free cake option only brownies...I don't care how good they are - just offer me something else! Suggest polenta cake or Bakewell....there are so many naturally GF cakes that can be enjoyed by others. Far too noisy inside
Great food, safe for gluten free diners with clear easy-to-access allergen guidance. Tasty cocktails - we didn't realise there was a 2 4 1, bonus! Service friendly and welcoming from Tabs and Francesco
We are in Southampton for a flying visit and stumbled across this absolute GEM of a cafe.
The full breakfast can be adapted for a gluten free diet which was absolutely delicious. The breakfasts are cooked fresh and presentation is superb.
The staff are so so friendly, especially Stuart the owner. The atmosphere is just fab. The cafe is spotlessly clean too.
Would highly recommend this cafe.
Thank you for a fabulous breakfast!
