I visited Silk City Coffee in Manchester, CT, on a very rainy day, and stepping inside felt like a warm embrace. The space is inviting, with plenty of seating for those working remotely, as well as cozy couches in the back—perfect for meeting up with a friend, reading a book, or simply enjoying a slow morning. There’s a real sense of community here, and it shows. As for the treats: Gluten-Free Vegan Blackberry Lime Donut – I don’t know how they made this gluten-free and vegan and still so delicious, but they did! Tart, sweet, and perfectly soft. Orange Ricotta Cake – Soft and moist with a lovely orange flavor. The frosting on top was the perfect complement. Funfetti Cookie – Soft, chewy, and just the right amount of sweetness. A fun, nostalgic treat. Regular Latte – Beautiful latte art and a bold coffee flavor. Bouquet Latte – Topped with delicate flowers, this latte was not only beautiful but also had a wonderful floral flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. If you like flavored coffee, this is a must-try! Silk City Coffee is a true gem, whether you're looking for a place to work, catch up with a friend, or simply savor a great cup of coffee. I heard that they are celiac-friendly and wanted a quick bite on the go. This was the first time I'd gone since my diagnosis, so I went in because I was nervous about making sure it was safe for me to have it. The person who took my order had limited knowledge, but luckily it was not very busy, and the manager took the opportunity to explain to both of us the process. Not only they have a few gf items marked on the menu, but if you tell them you have an allergy, they make sure to alert the staff, so they clean the area, utensils and change gloves before preparing the meal. They have a separate fryer for the fries, too! The grilled chicken sandwich was appetizing and gluten-free.

Great lunch alone waitress asked if i wanted breakfast or lunch menus, then offered both. Got Steaming cup of tea and a second cup. Had the tomato cheddar bisque and the ham and cheese. Waitress added tomato and gluten free bread I requested. Wonderful lunch not to slow or fast and filling.

so accommodating and kind! i ordered the bacon egg and cheese panini but subbed bacon with ham and added avocado. The waitress is so kind and this place is so underrated! I would totally come back, they have such a good menu and offer dairy free pancakes and have a gluten free brownie in their bakery aswell.

A lot of good desserts… sometimes they have gluten free. Had Tresa leches cake there it was amazing. Cheesecake is always good too. Had the pork I was here also, it’s all good. Every time I drive by I wanna stop. Can’t go wrong with any of the desserts. …!!!!!

It's a great breakfast place. The virtually unlimited choice of omelets is awesome, I wish I could try them all. I haven't tried their breakfast sandwiches yet but I'm jealous every time I see those beauties. The waiting staff is helpful and friendly. They easily accommodated my friend with gluten free needs

Love Steve’s! Bagels are fantastic. Egg Everything and Spinach are my faves. Miss them having actual home made gluten free bagels - We can get gross Udi’s bagels at the grocery store for half the price. Would love if they offered delivery through a vendor that lets you change toppings or bread choice on sandwiches or salads or leave a note to request a substitute or specify an allergy... I’d love a corned beef sandwich on an everything bagel. Can’t order it delivered.

It's been a few years since I've been here but it's still just as amazing. The food is fantastic, the blueberry buckle oatmeal is a truly special treat, the coffee is endless, and I was happily surprised to learn they have pretty good gluten free toast! It was perfect with the Irish benedict. The hashbrowns are also fire, which is a true measure of any good breakfast place.

I have come here more and more over the past six months and have to say that it has improved ten fold since I've started coming. It's grown in all the good ways and their staff is phenomenal. I've always had a good experience here. It's a cozy atmosphere with friendly, knowledgeable staff that are so good with kids. My child filled out a form to "order" her own glazes and they worked with her to figure out what she wanted in such a respectful way. They came up to her on her level and talked through what she wanted her project to look like. The cafe has such good food options and now has gluten free options!! 🙌🙌 They have great classes with a nice atmosphere to relax and enjoy with friends. We come here frequently now whenever we want to relax and unwind and are feeling crafty. Love this place.
