I have purchased gluten free orders here on several occasions. I have not gotten sick (I have celiac disease). However almost every time there is some sort of mistake with my order. Whether it is missing cheese or didn't include my salad in the bag/box or my grilled meat or veg, there can be a missing item. They are great about helping me "next time" but that doesn't help the night I am having dinner.

They recently catered an event that I am co-organizer for which required breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 3 days over the course of an entire weekend. The food was phenomenal. Lots of gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and other specialized dietary options in addition to more ' traditional" food. The desserts were also out of this world! . They were very professional and worked well with us on menu planning and also some last minute adjustments that we didn't anticipate. We have had excellent feedback from the event attendees about the food. I definitely recommend them whether to stop into their shop for a quick meal and coffee or to have them cater an event for you.

What a beautifully pink location! I randomly found this place on google and was so happy I did. The detail and love put into the space gives you so much to appreciate. The cupcakes AND food were amazing. I ordered a dozen count of assorted cupcakes, one being Somoa Girl Scout cookie flavor, but they do have lots of options including seasonal flavors like Coquito and gluten free options too! I tried the breakfast sandwich and was surprised to see they make everything to order and FRESH, real eggs, bacon (not microwaved) and bread was toasted and soft inside. I went twice in one week and brought my 5 year old daughter in the second time for lunch and ordered the loaded fries, WOW it was delicious! The portion is great for sharing, the fries were hot crispy and fresh, slightly drizzled with maple syrup, topped with cheese and bacon, scallions and 2 eggs on top, we ate the entire thing! Whether you’re local or not it’s worth coming in and experiencing it!

The best local eatery hands down. I have been coming to Sassafras since I was a kid in the 80's. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and dessert are always fantastic. I have never had a bad meal here. The menu is quite diverse... typical diner fare plus a bunch of really great unique dishes. Pancakes are awesome! Ice cream is rich and creamy and fresh. Try a milkshake! They even have healthy options and gluten free options which is super important to me. You can pretty much customize any dish without issue. The servers are so friendly and the food is prepared quite quickly. Try their fish and chips! I promise you won't be disappointed. Spread the word, but save me a seat!
