This place is fantastic, but you have to sit outside. The dining room is dated and very loud! We eat here frequently because they offer gluten free items, but check your plate, I have been served regular bread on a few occasions.
This spot offers a tasty mix of authentic dishes with good portion sizes, perfect for celebrations with friends or casual meals.

Good gluten free vegan options. Unfortunately they cannot dial down the spice whatsoever. I have asked for mild, extra mild, no spice, and it always comes out 3/5 spice level- unenjoyable.
Enjoy great food and coffee in a chill setting, perfect for lazy mornings with quiet vibes and the bonus of a nearby park for a stroll.

I have gluten allergy. I been eating here for a few years now. I always get the breakfast sampler. They can substitute the pancakes and put blueberries on them. Yum. If you order the eggs over easy, it will come out more done than you like. Like over medium or over hard. I only got it right like a handful of times from eating here. Friends do like chocolate pancakes. I had a friend who said theor French toast is good. Steak will come more medium well or we'll done if you order it. Hashbrowns don't use flower to make them crispy so they are safe. Ham has some grill marks on it. So it's always nice. My bacon always came out crispy from what remember. They got better after 2022. I don't see the same faces as much anymore. I might eat there once every 3 months and don't usually see the same staff. But the quality got better except for what I mentioned earlier. Service speed is hit or miss. I can't tell ya a pattern yet. There's a park behind it which is nice to walk off what you ate if you like. I give it 4 stars overall since I mostly have a positive experience and no reaction when I tell them I have a gluten allergy even when my friends do not.
Stopped by on my way to the hospital as my wife wanted something gentle on her tummy after trying to recover from a car accident. These smoothies are supposed to be all natural, gluten free, lactose free, with no additives or preservatives. Additionally they are supposed to be meal smoothies that fill you up. I spent around forty bucks for us and our 3 kids to get 5 medium smoothies and i ended up with stomach cramps, because I think there was milk in it, my wife ended up throwing up hers, and all 3 of my kids, although they did finish theirs they were hungry just an hour later.
Also, I stood behind the counter waiting for well over 5 minutes for the guy to even acknowledge me at all and I was the only one in the restaurant!
Clearly he was very busy filling to go orders, but nevertheless it was not a pleasant experience, and I will not return.
This is the location just in front of Walmart off West Adams 11/24/23
McAlister's is the place I like to go eat some vegetarian sandwich. It has avocado that is so creamy with the balsamic red onion. I really enjoy it as is and it is really good with the gluten free bread too.
Went here for breakfast and they have a new breakfast menu with lots more choices. I can't eat gluten so got grits instead of bread or biscuit. Grits were a little to runny for me but tasted like grits. Wife meal was not very warm, needs to be keep hot when served.
