I was excited to eat here because it looks like a nice place. But I ordered a gluten free toastie from the menu and my friends ordered the non gluten free version and mine came out smaller than half of their toastie. Both my friends and I paid $18 for it so I would’ve expected the same portions. I went up to ask why the portion was so small and all they said it was just because the bread is different, quite rudely and not understanding towards me. If the staff were understanding and fixed the situation, I would not be writing this complaint. Also gluten free bread is really no more expensive than normal bread at Woolies. I had to go get a meal somewhere else after. My coffee I ordered also took 25 mins to come out and when it did it was freezing cold. The price of my entire meal was just not reasonable for the portion and wait times. I’m not one to complain but I wish they would’ve assisted me better. Attached is a photo of one half of their toastie and my entire toastie.
A buzzing cafe with a cool vibe, excellent coffee, and a unique menu makes it a must-visit spot in Byron Bay!

Bayleaf cafe was a highlight of our trip. The unique menu let us experience food we wouldn't be able to recreate at home. Plenty of gluten free options too. Highly recommend!

The staff were all very welcoming. I came yesterday and had a bacon and egg burger and returned today and tried the breakfast burger. Both were delicious. Breakfast and a drink was under $25. The Top Shop sits at the top of a hill, catching the sunshine and the breeze. The sweets cabinet looks delicious with all their options, and I couldn't resist their gluten free chocolate brownie (YUM!).
Dog friendly, and you can even sit on the grass if you feel like a picnic. Another bonus is that parking is free. I will be back for sure. Thank you! 😋😍
Enjoy a vibrant and delicious spot offering a diverse menu with generous portions, perfect for a relaxed family-friendly lunch.

Ok, so I Love the fact that as a vegan I can eat literally everything here!!! I also love the fact that as someone who limits gluten intake they have gluten free options for their delicious meals.
The food tastes alive and good for you as well as VERY tasty and the portion sizes are really good.
They serve hot dishes, hot drinks and smoothies and dessert with a good variety of each.
The staff is super friendly and the environment is calm and relaxing. It's super family friendly.
A definite must for lunch. They open at 11:00.
A must-visit spot with vibrant vibes, lots of plant-based options, and a cozy atmosphere that keeps everyone coming back for more.

The cafe is outstanding, it has a charming ambiance that gives you a Bali vibe, and it's just a stone's throw away from the beach. The customer service is excellent and the staff is very welcoming. They serve a fantastic coffee, and the food is always fresh, and there are also vegan and gluten-free options available to choose from.

Sales assistant is not the brightest and she's really rude. I asked a simple question about the difference between the seconds products and the full price products and she stared at me for ages, then gave a stupid answer, something like "well, the gluten ones have gluten and the non-gluten ones don't". Not really the place for attitude when I was expecting an answer that would reassure me that although they're seconds the taste is fine, they're just not the right shape or something like that. Anyway, I was going to buy a lot more but not with that attitude, ended up only buying a couple of things. Visit was on 4/11/2024 and an old woman served me.
Quirky cafe with a fun vibe, busy atmosphere, and great value, perfect for a satisfying breakfast anytime.

Fast and friendly service, delicious breakfast. Crispy hash browns and decent gluten free bread with perfect eggs. Freshly squeezed juices too. Lovely. We are here twice and it was great both times.
So much more than a bakery, this place makes epic food, chill and enjoy the relaxed vibe with a freshly cooked breakfast, freshly made rolls, pies and quiches the best in the bay - don't get me started on their breads, try their rye sourdough - fav! We ordered a gluten free cake for a birthday bash and everyone said it was the best choc cake they had tasted, the staff are so friendly and chilled - hard to find these days! Ticks all the boxes - there is something for everyone!
Enjoy a serene spot with vibrant, healthy options and a charming atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxing meal.

I have been here many times, being a local that works around the corner. It’s never been great and always overpriced for what you get in terms of food and service, but today was special:
- They have decided to remove pricing from the menu, I can only assume because their pricing is unjustified. A coffee, banana smoothie, mushrooms on toast with 1 extra boiled egg and slice of pre-made “eggplant galette” (like a vegetarian quiche) cost $68 🤔
- My mushroom on toast came out on a small gluten free bread, I never asked for it, so had to return. I can only assume they charged me for it.
- The extra boiled egg was cold, clearly had been sitting in the fridge. Un edible for what is a hot breakfast.
- My partners pre-made eggplant galette never came out. She had to remind them when I was finished, no apology, just another stuff up.
- They use small side plates to serve their meals, it costs no extra or is any more effort to clean a normal sized plate, you can’t even cut the toast without food going everywhere.
The other point is how uninterested the staff are in offering anything that resembles service. If they don’t want to be there, for the sake of the business and its clients they may as well not be.
You would be best to avoid this overpriced place, with so many great food and coffee alternatives around Byron.
A vibrant spot with great vibes, amazing woodfired pizzas, and a welcoming atmosphere; perfect for a casual hangout with friends.

We had an amazing experience! The vibes, ambience and service were outstanding. Special thanks to Tristan who took great care of us and adapted all our food requirements (vegan, gluten-free & dairy free ). The pizza was so good!! Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely family owned local deli. They make so delicious pastries, including some gluten free (amazing rasberry chocolate muffins). The savory's dishes are great too (selections of pies and quiches, the salmon quiche is so tasty). A must while in town.
A charming cafe in the town's heart, boasting a local gem who's all about top-notch customer service and a welcoming vibe for everyone.

Exceptional little cafe in the heart of town that locals continue to visit for the same reason staff: mostly the infamous Duncan! A man renown for his strategic capability and customer centric standpoint. An absolute gem to the community. We've been meaning to leave a review for a while and finally got around to it!
LOCATION: Centrally located with ample on street parking and outside seating - allowing for those with dogs/ large prams etc.
MENU: Ample options inclusive of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.
STAFF: Attentive and incredibly lucky to have Duncan on board - a celebrity can-do guy of sorts in the Australian community. Whether he's helping out with the dishes, food service or management - like all of us who visit - if you manage to get here on a day he's helping them out - you won't be disappointed.
OVERALL: Great little spot to eat in town with a true steward of customer service on board.
I flet like I was on a mini holiday in Italy. The food was fantastic and the service was great! the gluten free pizza base is the best I ever had. They have all options for vegetarian, vegan, GF, garlic free.
You bring your own wine, and you have the best Italian food with atmosphere!!!!
The best decaf coffee and gluten free sandwich! This is hands down the best place for a proper decaf almond cappuccino plus delicious sandwiches that are gluten free and lactose free!
I just received a gift box from friends. WOW. Presented so well, and lovely quality treats. So far I have tried the olives (herb ad lemon) and the biscotti!
I am vegan and gluten free and I can eat everything in the box! I am looking forward to trying the rest with the family.
