Two friends and I had a lovely Moms Day off brunch here. First time visiting, I’d googled places my friend, who’s celiac, would be able to find good options. We opened the door and were greeted with a smile from the host and the wonderful smells of fresh baked goodies. There wasn’t a wait, but I wouldn’t have minded as I’d have had more time to look through to-go items for sale in the front. Our sever was friendly and prompt. Helped me decide between two things I was interested in, thoroughly assured my friend on what was gluten-free, substitutes to make things so, and our coffees were never empty. I will absolutely be coming back with my family soon.
Indulge in must-try cheesy delights, crispy fries, and unique offerings that keep everyone coming back for more.

I haven't had onion rings in years and after hearing about the Almighty Cheese I had to try it. The gluten free onion rings were amazing! We'll definitely be going back!
Offering amazing takeout with fantastic portions and fresh, crisp ingredients, this spot is a must-visit for a delightful meal experience.

I recently tried Persis Grill and it was a great experience. The staff were incredibly helpful when we mentioned our need for gluten-free options. The food itself was absolutely delicious, fresh and authentic.
Celebrate special occasions here with generous portions, tasty house-made dressings, and a great vibe that keeps you coming back!

Visited last night. Overall, we enjoyed our meals. However: it was very loud (in general, not due to music) and we all had trouble hearing each other from one end of the table to the other (two tables pulled together). The waitress seemed distracted/bothered and/or couldn't hear us herself and twice missed something that was requested. Ordered a lemon drop martini ($14!!!) and the glass was about 3/4 full, almost like someone had taken a sip or two before it was served, and the stem of the glass was sticky. All of our food was lukewarm instead of hot. For the women, there was only one bathroom with only two stalls, and one was out of order, causing lineups of 3 people or more at times. And finally, there was nothing on the menu to indicate which meals were gluten-free except for mentioning that gluten-free buns were available for burgers. The waitress didn't know either. We were surprised that something that simple was left off the menu; there were spots for alcohol-free items on the menu, but nothing to show what was gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan. The food was tasty though and we all particularly enjoyed the whipped feta with sundried tomato pesto appetizer, but it needed another naan with it as we had cheese left over; We wound up eating the rest of the cheese with our utensils.

Duke Fine Foods has a great variety of Eastern European foods. Nice to have a store like this in Ottawa, as it reminds me of the old Budapest Deli in Byward Market, the Eurodeli on Merivale, and the Polish store on Richmond Road, all long gone now. The Duke's specialties are the wide assortment of meats from familiar brands (Sikorski, Piller), and specialty brands (Don José), cheeses, smoked fish (salmon, trout, sturgeon), tons of preserves, jams, sweets, bread (fresh from Montreal), pierogies, specialty diary products, and their homemade desserts which they'll take orders for gluten-free options. Most of the items are Polish origin, but they also have goods from Ukraine to Germany to Hungary. They also have a sandwich and espresso bar, but they weren't making any sandwiches the day I visited, so that will be in a future post.
The staff are knowledgeable, and a good place to practice your Polish. With so much variety in the store, you'll no doubt leave with something extra special.

Mongolian Village Grill - All you can load bowl, all you can eat salad, soup, rice and wraps
It's nice enough place. We had a great server, he was helpful and funny! The food was ok, the rice was a bit over cooked and the bowl was ok.
It was difficult to know what had gluten in it so I played it safe and avoided some items that I might have liked more.
Other people with fewer dietary concerns in our party really enjoyed it.
Expect a thoughtful twist on classic favorites, where the staff goes the extra mile to enhance your experience with unique options.

I ordered a big Mac no bun because I can't eat gluten due to inflammation issues. Not only were the staff great but so thoughtful! They put everything in a lettuce wrap without me even asking!!!!
That's caring and I really appreciated it
