Incredible burger! If it wasn't a plant based shop I would have checked if it was beef 😂 The vegan Sauces were delicious the owner was lovely and I was with a gluten free/celiac friend who could have almost the entire menu! Which is a rarity in itself. They have a gluten free deepfryer and all. 100/10 will be back

Good supermarket. I tend to shop here for things over Coles. I like their 650g gluten free white bread but some woolworths never seem to have them

Have been visiting this place for the menu choices. Low cal gluten free buns, fresh produce. The food tastes fresh. Expensive and usually comes out cold. The chips and sides are usually cold as well. Table service can be quite disappointing. Tables are not cleared when the staff are standing inside talking and dancing. The napkins in the holders are usually empty and not filled up until something is said. Most tables didn't get their drinks the day we visited.

Always lovely service here. The coffee is nice and very hot for takeaway. I love that they offer gluten free muffins so I don't have to miss out on a muffin with my coffee. Close to grocery stores so you can grab a quick snack. Also close to the car park entrance which makes it a great option for a takeaway. They have a loyalty card too.

Myself and my sister come into the Charlestown store today Thursday 6th March 2025 and my sister had a gluten free pizza 🍕 and I decided to just have a cheesy garlic bread and hot chocolate fudge brownies for lunch today , The food was super fresh and hot it was actually really yummy, And the staff members were really friendly and helpful and polite, Only 2 negatives is the price is quite high for what we got but I think that’s because gluten free products is quite expensive anyway and also this store could certainly do with being more disability accessible for customers who use mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walking frames or walking sticks and ones that are highly prone to falls ( like myself ) thankfully I didn’t fall off the two stairs but they’re definitely a hazard in wet conditions like it was today , But I would recommend coming here again , Thank you to the young lady who allowed us to sit on the bench seat to eat our lunch inside away from the rain . 😁 Aimee STROMEIER

Oliver brown is awesome! Comfortable atmosphere, cordial staff, and superb espresso. I had a coffee and it was delectable. Incredible food choices, including vegetarian and without gluten. Strongly suggest visiting for a first class espresso experience!

Haven’t been out to eat really at all since the corona virus started but wasn’t I happy to see at the Mattara they were COVID safe. Although we were signed in by a chef, not the COVID Marshall who wasnt at the desk, we were very happy as there was plenty of distance between tables and sanitiser available if you want it. We sat and yet again the same chef brought us menus, which was good as he could describe what was gluten free. Surprise surprise when we order, it was the chef to take our order. He was also back and forth into the kitchen too. The meals came out and a younger chef gave us some salt and pepper packets and we went to enjoy our meals. They were all amazing. Very good Thai beef salad, and the Parma was as cheesy as I’d hoped. A bar man seemed to me helping now on the till who also cleared our plates. We thanked the chef that was also now clearing plates as we left. Thanks to all the floor staff who obviously are working through a tough time yet the still made our visit delightful. Can’t wait to comeback

My sister and Mum decided they would try your gluten free butter chicken with nan bread on Thursday 26th October 2023 at lunch time and they really liked it , The lady was very friendly and happy to help and was & accommodating to my sister who is profoundly deaf and can not talk , They’re definitely coming back again next time we have lunch at Charlestown Square. 🩷 Thank You Aimee Stromeier

Amazing experience at Charlestown Rascal’s. We ordered an OG combo, and our server was amazing at ensuring the GF burger was listed as coeliac, and when asked if the other burger could be upgraded, he pointed out the appropriate options to make it happen. Food tasted amazinggg, service was quick and friendly (despite being at 12:30pm), and the GF bun was the nicest brand that my partner has had so far. Good serving size as well; enough to make you feel satisfied and not bloated like your other fast foods. First time in Newcastle, but will be sure to visit once again when we return. Well done guys!
