A warm and friendly welcome on my first visit to the foundry; a great atmosphere and excellent food with a fantastic gluten free menu. All in all a great evening.
The team managing reception are always so lovely and she remembered me and asked how I was doing. It felt so nice for her to remember mr! The room was clean and lovely. My only dislike was the fact that the double bed (made from two single beds) was very uncomfortable as one of the beds was quite worn and hard and the other wasn’t. It was hard to get comfortable. Otherwise, the room was lovely, good TV, good WiFi single, and good climate control! I have eaten at the restaurant before and love the fact there are gluten-free menu items available as I am coeliac.
Cosy friendly pub with fire, dog friendly too. Separate dining room, Food is always really good, lots of choice on the menu and a specials menu, the brie stuffed chicken is amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cater for gluten free, items clearly marked on menu. Does get busy so may need to call and a book a table. Can’t wait to go back.
We came for a large family meal and even without booking, we were seated quickly. The service is exceptional, the staff very friendly. There was plenty of gluten free & vegan options for those of us with dietary restrictions. The food was incredible, really delicious & every one of us enjoyed it. Highly recommended
Review of scholars at Blackburn college. I have absolutely no idea how this place does such amazing food for so little prices. Coming up currently as one of the best places in Lancashire and no wonder. Always busy you need to book. Went for his indoors birthday treat today. Catered for us perfectly we are gluten free. Curried cauliflower soup with pumpkin seeds for him and chicken and thyme pate with blueberry jelly for me with homemade GF bread. Wild mushroom and pea risotto for me and a brisket red wine shepherds pie for him. To finish the most beautiful lemon posset with cinder toffee and all sorts of sweet surprises. All for the princely sum of £8.50 for three courses just wow!! A very very reasonable Sauvignon The wines are great prices £12 a bottle!!! If you don’t try here your missing out on amazing food created by talented young students and superb value for money. It was wonderful! Cannot wait to go again!!
Unfortunately we didn't take photos, because everything we had was excellent. The staff was courteous and helpful toward our gluten allergies. The food was well presented and expertly spiced. It was lovely. I definately hope to return!
Having recently visited Istanbul in Turkey, we decided to take friends to the Istanbul restaurant in Blackburn. Two of our party need gluten free meals and they were delighted with the range of meals available and the clarity on the menu. All four of us enjoyed the food and we were pleasantly surprised with the reasonable cost. We are looking forward to a return visit.
My goodness, what lovely food and what excellent service. Thoroughly pleased with our Sunday lunch with family today on our visit to Blackburn. The food tasted fresh, was well presented, tasty and surpassed our expectations. Great value for money too. With such an array of offerings on the menu, there was something for a gluten free family member, a vegan, and two kids. Will definitely be returning and recommended to others.
