The gluten free menu is really quite small. There are a lot of items they could do gluten free, but don't for some reason. It would be really easy to use cornflour to thicken sauces, for example. I've eaten here a few times now and never been glutened so their kitchen is safe even if the menu is disappointing.

Stayed overnight on the carpark in our motorhome. Such a beautiful location on the side of the canal and zero noise after closing time. Such welcoming friendly staff and management and a great menu with plenty of gluten free options 😀 got chatting with some of the locals who highly praised everything about the pub and staff. Very dog friendly and plenty of seating inside and out. Highly recommend a trip for a bite to eat and a lovely walk ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sunday lunch for two family members birthdays. The food was excellent starters where a good size and serve well presented mains the same one had the fish an chips gluten free and said she really enjoyed it as she struggled getting it elsewhere the other birthday girl had the venison and pheasant casserole and loved it also, staff where attentive nothing a problem for them really enjoyed our visit.

Well what can I say about this lovely friendly welcoming pub ? Food absolutely amazing and such generous helpings of homemade food and cater for celiacs with gluten free meals. Staff so friendly and manager so helpful. Cant wait to go back as we live in Birkenhead but my sister recommended it who lives in Ormskirk.
