We went to Mellow Mushroom Avondale for our traditional after recital gathering.
I had a slice of my daughter's Great White pizza. It was sooo good. The crust is wonderful! I could eat just the crust all by itself. The ingredients are very fresh and good. I also had a slice of my friend's Gluten Free Veg Out Pizza, with much trepidation. I have avoided gluten-free things like the plague. My friend ordered it with Pesto instead of red sauce and no tomatoes or black olives. It was even better than the Great White! The crust was crunchy, but good enough. The ingredients are so fresh and good. It had just the right amount of basil that blended well with the other ingredients to make it something dreams are made of. I'm so glad I took the chance on this gluten-free.
The Avondale location is great. The building and floor to ceiling windows that open on pleasant nights make me think of the idea I have of dining in Spain or Italy and remind me of restaurants in Brazil. Do not miss this place!

We hired Biscottis for our brunch wedding and everything was perfect! The food was amazing and hot! They handled our small 42 person wedding with ease. They easily accommodated our vegan, gluten free guests and they made sure we got all our leftovers. We were able to enjoy it the next day with some of our out of town guests before they left! It was great! My only comment would be there were some times that the buffet wasn't being managed well (according to our planner having to step in a few times). Other than that we felt like they were the perfect option for our brunch wedding.

One big standnout: gluten free pizza is not an up charge, and it's not tiny. It's a full 12" pizza. It's not a hard, sharp mouth destroyer. It's some of the best gf pizza I've had. 100% recommend.
A lively spot with fabulous service and a modern twist on Italian classics, but can get a bit noisy.

A year later and we’re still so happy to have Josephine in the neighborhood. Excellent customer service paired with an incredible menu filled with modern takes on italian classics. We almost always get an order of their sticky ribs and caesar salad to start then spend time trying to decide on which entree because you truly cannot go wrong. I also have a gluten allergy and love that they offer a gluten free pasta substitute.

The sweet lady who served us (I'm so sorry I didnt get your name) absolutely MADE our experience. She talked with us about the flavors, history and questions my kids had about the macrons. We would come back just to experience this excellent customer service.... but the desserts were also fabulous (great array of flavors!). They are expensive, its true (almond flour is expensive and that's what they make the macrons with so they are all gluten free). . But it's worth it for the experience.
