I was really excited to go here and get gf crepes. The reviews made it seem super safe. We walked in a the staff was not friendly whatsoever, the girl practically threw the cups and water at our table. I was watching them cook the crepes and they cleaned everything with what looked like chemical cleaning spray. I was also nervous because I could only see the one container of nutella that they were using for all of the non-gf crepes and was questioning if they would open a new container. They didn’t, I watched them use the exact same knife and container for my crepe. Overall disappointed.

Oryza has become a staple of our Asian food expeditions whenever the desire arises. The primary reason is my wife has Celiac’s and therefore must avoid gluten. Oryza fortunately uses corn based flour, not wheat. This wizardy allows food allergen victims to be able to eat from their diverse menu. Their food preparation is excellent. The atmosphere is chill. The service is fantastic. We’ve had only 1 negative experience and noticed that same server was not employed there for much longer. ANYWAYS- this is a great place for Asian cuisine. The owner is always friendly and recognizes us when we visit.

I love Trumpet Blossom. I come here every time I come to Iowa city. The food is delicious and plant based. I am a meat eater, and yet I love all the dishes here. I feel like I miss nothing. As a gluten-free, dairy-free individual, I love knowing there's a restaurant I can come to, and I can nearly pick anything on the menu and know that it is safe for me to eat. They're also very conscious of gluten allergies and can accommodate with delicious options. This waste not, want not vibe make me feel at home and inclusive. I highly recommend the turmeric latte tastes wonderful, and it's full of antioxidants. I am a celiac and was pleasantly surprised that they have a whole gluten-free menu with lots of options! One of the servers said that she is a celiac, too. That was cool.
The only thing that made me nervous was the wooden cutting boards they served my gluten free food on. Not sure how they clean them, or if they keep them separate from gluten serving boards, but I know we should mistrust all wooden utensils due to their absorbency. These had obvious cut marks on them and everything.
Happily though, I didn't feel and signs of being glutened. With major gluten ingestions I definitely feel symptoms, and I had none to report here. Hopefully that bodes well.

HELLO to all my gluten-free Celiac friends, today my husband and I went to St. Burch tavern, we asked them if they have a gluten-free menu and they gave me a separate menu.. what I loved about this place is that they were so specific in their menu about the fries and anything fried because they fry them in a shared fryer. I ordered the main lobster sandwich with a gluten-free bun. Everything was delicious They gave me the salad as my side. Our server was Anthony and he was so knowledgeable about cross-contamination and changing gloves and stuff. So thank you! Anthony . The place was so clean. The service was amazing and the ambiance was very nice. I have no reaction whatsoever. The food was delicious. So clean. I highly recommend it. If you're in the Iowa area. Definitely try them out. :)
