i was there yesterday at the lake orion store . My son and wife have celiac disease . Your menu has a gluten free symbol next to gluten free items. We ordered the nacho. The waitress told me the chips are fried in oil that fries battered items. Hence not gluten free. I appreciated her knowledge and being honest. my son starts fifth grade tomorrow and I would hate for him to get sick right before school started. Please change your menu to remove that symbol. Some people with celiac end up in the hospital from ingesting gluten. It’s very serious. I’ll be honest i don’t trust going there after that.
On an unrelated note, my wife and i ordered burgers and they were dry and burnt to a crisp. I paid $3 extra for a gluten free bun and got a huge wide thin crispy cauliflower flatbread instead . The waitress said instead of fries (fried in glutened oil) that my son and wife could get side salad. I figured that meant that it would be free because it was replacing the french fries however when I got the receipt we were charged $3.49 for each side salad. she also informed me that the bread was toasted on a grill and which they toast other bread so now I’m concerned that the cauliflower flatbread which looked toasted was actually toasted on the same grill as gluten bread. Just a heads up just trying to advocate for my son and wife because if we don’t advocate for ourselves nothing will ever change.

After a rough day, we decided to lift our spirits with some ice cream and headed to Menchie’s.
The atmosphere was nice and inviting. There were a few people sitting and enjoying their treats, but it wasn’t busy at all.
I tried the pineapple coconut smoothie frozen yogurt, which is both gluten-free and vegan. Unfortunately, it didn’t hit the mark for me—it was really sweet and lacked strong pineapple or coconut flavors. I ended up giving it to the kids. I was hoping it would be closer to the pineapple flavor they had before.
Even though that flavor wasn’t my favorite, I would still recommend Menchie’s! This location was friendlier than the last one I visited, they have a good selection, and lots of toppings to choose from. I also appreciate that they charge by weight, so you can get as much or as little as you want.
With homemade dishes that look as good as they taste, this popular spot is a must-visit, but be ready to wait on weekends!

Found this awesome breakfast nook by chance as daughter is gluten free. The menue choice is amazing & abundant. The plates are well presented more than enough food that it won't disappoint even.
All staff are pleasant and attentive and the establishment is clean and well kept.
If we're ever back in Michigan from Ontario will be back at The Bread & Yolk for round 2.
It's hard to find gluten free vegan food in this area without being constrained to salad. This place makes it super tasty, hot, and the service is friendly. Improvements would be to warm up the dining room and offer wifi.
Accommodating vibe with quick service, flavors pop, but don't get your hopes up for sushi here!
