Cool, bohemian space with amazing fresh food. Literally everything is good. Plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. Coloring pages and crayons for kids. No parking lot, but street parking is usually easy enough to find.
A charming spot with unique treats and a cozy vibe, it's perfect for satisfying those sweet cravings while keeping everyone entertained!

Went specifically for gluten free pastries or treats. Many options were available on a Sunday mid-morning. Had a delicious gluten free cinnamon roll which are hard to find!
A lively spot with a diverse menu, offering unique and affordable options that keep diners coming back for more, even if it can get a bit noisy.

The service is fast and friendly. The food is always good, and they have an amazing glutin free menu, which is awesome since my daughter has celiac disease.
A spot loved for its unique pizza and sandwich options, but a little more seasoning could take things to the next level.

Avalanche Pizza is our favorite place to get dinner in Athens! The pizza is always good. And they accommodate a family gluten intolerance with kindness and professionalism. We love Avalanche!

I had recently decided to go gluten- and dairy-free. I was having such a difficult time in the big chain stores finding items that qualified for both. While searching the web, Kindred Market came up. I hadn't been there before and happened to be driving by, so I decided to stop in. I was overwhelmed (in a good way) by all of the choices! I took my time in each aisle because the items they have there are MUCH different than you'd find at Kroger or Walmart. Many local options, bulk options, gluten-free, dairy-free, you name it.
I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I saw their dairy-free section! I went in there with the idea that I'd only buy some dairy-free yogurt and came out with a full reusable bag. My only wish (with every place I run into) is that they would stock gluten-free Angel Hair Pasta. I can only find it on Amazon and in larger quantities than I wish to purchase.
I'll be shopping here for my gluten- and dairy-free items from now on!
ETA: 4/27/2025 - Kindred Market got in Banza Chickpea Angel Hair Pasta this past Wednesday, and I stopped in to grab some on Thursday.
Tonight, I made my spaghetti with the angel hair pasta, and I'm in absolute LOVE! Thank you so, so much, Kindred Market! You're so amazing!
A gorgeous and comfy spot with a cozy vibe, perfect for enjoying generous portions and a delightful atmosphere.

Gorgeous comfortable place with a charming staff that serves fabulous food. We had coconut chicken curry, iced peppermint tea and a roast beet salad that was so big it served 3 people. Great for gluten free folks and family friendly, too!
A fun little restaurant in the heart of Athens. Hot dogs and fries are great. Lots of spicy and tasty options to create the perfect hot dog. Specials change often. Cajun fries are a must. Can get gluten free options. A must stop if you’re going through town and want a taste of Athens.
The beer selection is off the charts! Great service at the bar, and enjoyed the food. Appreciated all the gluten-free options and concern for a member of our party with a food allergy.
Love love love me some Chipotle! I appreciate how they change their gloves and the serveware due to my health concerns. I have Celiac Disease and did not get sick after I ate here. That is a huge factor on whether I eat somewhere again or not.
I really can't say enough good things about Donkey. It's a fantastic locally owned coffee shop that only sells ethically traded and grown coffee. You can get your coffee made almost any way that you want. From nitro cold brew to espresso, and vegan and gluten free snack options they really do have something for everyone. And to top it all off, the staff is always friendly and helpful, even if it is obvious that they are "having a day" as can happen to anyone. With a cozy and unique atmosphere inside, and a small outside area, I wish I had more time to spend here in the morning with my coffee before work.
Experience delicious, fresh bowls crafted with care, perfect for customizing to your liking along with accommodating options.

Gm was helpful and guided my wife and I through the ordering/building process of the bowl. They are highly accommodating to most food allergies, including celiacs, which was a huge plus for my wife. The food was delicious and fresh, nothing looked like it had been sitting out for hours on end. Would highly recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area.
The food is fine. Just really, aggressively bland.
I'll start out with the good:
Vegan options are always appreciated, as well as gluten free.
Pita bread is cheap(and very good)and fries are bountiful.
The falafel is definitely authentic, I believe it's deep fried if you prefer that.
As best as I can tell, this isn't a corporate chain, so if you want to avoid pita pit this is one of the Mediterranean options on court street.
The meh:
Most of the actual containers where decompostable and they had an option on the website to exclude silverware, but my pita still came wrapped in plastic and the carryout bag is plastic.
The hummus bowl was very expensive for what I got(12 dollars at the time, plus 3 for extra falafel and a dollar for pita).
I wish the fries where offered in smaller amounts. I definitely got 5 dollars of fries but they where meant as a side.
And the bad:
The hummus is very runny. I don't know if this is the traditional Mediterranean consistency but having made hummus it tastes very watered down.
I cant place it, but there's definitely a herb in the falafel that doesn't mesh well with everything else.
The fries got soggy very quickly because of the carryout box.
Verdict: Not terrible, if you eat meat it might or might not be better. If I was going to eat here again I'd probably order exclusively things other than the bowls.
Edit:I did really like the fries though. Reminded me of carnival fries.
Delicious fries.😋 It's the only thing I can eat here because I'm gluten free and vegan. They cook their fries in a dedicated fryer and they are quite fabulous. I would have given them five stars if the employee I asked to change his gloves and be careful with my order because of potential cross contamination would have been more understanding and amenable instead of put out and indignant. My daughter had the veggie burger and fries and enjoyed them both.

Went here with a friend while she was in town. I’m gluten intolerant which means I always feel awful after eating pasta but thought it would be worth it! However they offered a gluten free pasta which was absolutely delicious and did not hurt me at all! I’m so happy I found a good Italian place that won’t cause me pain when I give in to my cravings! The drinks are also really good and our waiter was amazing!
Plus One is the only place I regularly order from in Athens. They have the best gluten free pizza in town (tip: order it well done for a crispy crust) and my wife loves the regular crust pizza as well. Hardly ever mess up my order and the one or two times they did it was remedied right away. Fair prices, delicious sauce and drizzle options, and they don’t skimp on toppings. I recommend them over any other place in town. In fact I plan to order tonight.
Expect a vibrant atmosphere and a diverse vegetarian menu that can be customized, making it a must-visit spot in Athens.

The food, staff, and atmosphere at Star of India are always so delightful. It is my favorite place to eat in Athens :) There is a whole vegetarian menu that can be made vegan upon request, the curry is gluten-free, and so is the pakora!
Clean and we'll kept tiny takeout joint. Got a coconut waffle (gluten free!) and Thai tea, both were over the top amazing! The Man behind the counter was so unbelievably friendly. Give them a chance if you like Thai food! I plan to come back.
Celebrated my birthday with a DELICIOUS Pad Lao with tofu and veggies. My daughter had Pad Thai and my husband (Mr. Steadfast Finicky) who began dinner as a skeptical visitor had Pad See You and LOVED it. 20 minutes later of almost virtual silence all plates scraped clean.😋 Also, they were very accommodating with gluten free and vegan requests. We will definitely be back...in a day or two! 😉
Really really love their food! I have Celiac Disease and eating out is usually a challenge. So it has been wonderful finding a local place to eat where I don't end up sick or in pain! They would get five stars if they had chips that were gluten free but they don't.😢 That makes me sad. However I enjoy what I get and try not to be too bummed I can't have chips and salsa or guacamole.
The spot is known for its impressive ability to keep the line moving while serving up hot, delicious mac and cheese with a unique noodle texture.

They’ve been slammed all day yet they kept the line moving and *still* had gluten free noodles halfway through the day. Amazing Mac and cheese, gf noodle texture also bomb. Bought it and didn’t eat it till like 20-30 minutes later and it’s still HOT. 9.999/10 minus 0.001 point for the super flimsy spork that can barely get through melted cheese.
This restaurant stands out with its quality, attention to detail, kind staff and excellent selection of tasty and good for the community foods. Was glad to have gluten free and vegan options.
