Excellent sangria and salmon. Soups always a good choice as well as desserts. Gluten-free options clearly labelled. Manhattan was a bit stiff, barramundi underwhelming. Make reservations as it is small and gets packed quickly.
The best restaurant in Champaign county and surrounding, hands down. The owners and staff are incredibly welcoming, and great at introducing their amazing food. Their empanadas and arepas have become regular lunches and dinners for me, as well as the rest of their menu which I’m working my way through! Further, this is the BEST restaurant outside of Columbus for those with celiac or gluten intolerance! I can’t recommend any restaurant before Abuela’s Kitchen!
Hands down the best cupcakes I've ever had! This little bakery is the cutest place! The owner and everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful. They offer gluten free options and very affordable for homemade baked goods. I'm so in love with this bakery that is in my small town. Shop local!
Allergy friendly!!! They have so many accommodations for people that can't eat a certain aspect of the pizza, and they are very mindful about cross-contamination. Very happy with my experience. Good taste too! Their signature cheese blend is to die for! My new go-to pizza place.
Update: Unfortunately, Marco's has since stopped making a gluten free pizza and have switched to frozen cauliflower crusts. Still very good, but now a 3-star level of catering allergy needs.
I appreciate this coffee house so much. I try to visit at least once a week, and every time I’m a goofball that does something silly like hitting the wrong tip button so I buy something else to tip correctly or just drop both of my Birdies cakes on the floor. The employees are always so kind to me without judgement. As someone who is on the spectrum, this is a safe place for me where I can go and feel almost no extra anxieties. In addition, I have Celiac Disease, and every time I ask “does this have gluten in it”, the staff always takes time to help me (though I just go with what I know is safe during busy hours). Thank you for showing kindness to people at all costs. I hope this brings in others dealing with some of the same things that I am.
