They're really trying at this place. They have fresh ingredients and you'll definitely be able to tell, but the execution just isn't there. When I drop 80 bucks at a restaurant for two people I better be impressed, and honestly I could've had better at the Hut and fed the whole street.
We ordered cheese curds for an appetizer. Definitely fresh curds, but not appropriately battered so the curds basically soaked up all the grease from the fryer and turned into one big coagulated mega grease curd. Forgivable since admittedly it's a pizza place but if you're going to put out curds in Wisconsin, not doing it well is a cardinal sin.
Pizza again had very fresh ingredients but not cooked all that well. I had a gluten free D-lux. My wife had regular sausage and green olives. Both seemed to be very well done on the edges and not done enough in the middle. Again, wood fired oven, I get it, but isn't that what I'm paying 23 bucks a 12" pizza for? The crust was average, and I'm fairly certain my gluten free crust was just a typical Udi's crust. Iykyk.
This is the point where the angry restaurant owner whines that we didn't say anything while we were there after I leave a review. Here's the thing. What would the 19 year old server have done better? Get us different mediocre food? Waste of everyone's time. Refunded our bill? Not fair to all the staff that have to make a living off of this place. That just hurts the business and by extension the staff. So did I pay and tip 20% anyway? You bet.
Not to mention this place, shockingly for the first week of October, is crawling with flies. Not another bug in sight around town but 4-5 flies buzzing around us during our meal. Not exactly an establishment that I want to hang around and order something else that might be better.
Key takeaway - it just wasn't all that good, there were lots of flies, and it was expensive. Good luck and good night.
Enjoy a cozy vibe with a charming outdoor patio and a solid selection of delicious options to satisfy your cravings any time of day.

The location is great, service was good, but the food itself was just ok. I have a dairy allergy and cannot eat spicy food, so my choices are always limited. However, I can normally get a salad or sandwich on a wrap (I also have a gluten sensitivity), but the salads were mostly spicy and they did not offer any wraps. I ordered the BLT and purchased my own gluten free bread. However, the sandwich had very little lettuce and was mostly bacon. My husband had the Southwest Salad and it looked big but it was mostly lettuce and had very little dressing. There are other good places for a quick lunch, but I may go back for coffee since it was a cute place. Don't recommend for lunch.
Expect prompt service, even on bustling weekends for large groups; bookings recommended, especially if you fancy proven crowd-pleasers.

Greasy calamari."Dusted calamari" server told us it was bread crumbs but on menu it was listed as gluten free (server said he didn't know about that). Grilled asparagus/ bacon/cheese/pine nut app had fresh asparagus but seemed like just ingredients thrown together. Not a cohesive dish. Focaccia was twice as thick as typical focaccia. Absolutely no flavor despite being topped w salt and a few olives. Manhattan was very frothy and seemed to lack sweet vermouth. Entrees consisted of mushroom. Gnocchi and calamari/shrimp marinara and pasta. Pasta cooked well, large shrimp and good amount of calamari but it was hidden underneath what looked like 3 plus cups of sauce w a pool of oil on top. Sauce had visible onions, Parsley, basil, and onions in it but for some reason had no flavor. Gnocchi dish had no flavor at all. We do have taste buds and have had delicious meals all over Door County so far this trip. Service was overly attentive to the point of the server coming every 3-5 minutes (yes, we timed after a while) to see if we wanted to place our order. On a Monday dinner reservation the place was not busy at all. We waited to place our entrees after apps were delivered thankfully because the entrees came out within 10 minutes. The look of the restaurant is beautiful w the 2 levels, water features, and open air dining but the music selection didn't seem to add to the ambiance of the place... Billy Jean and Jessie's Girl are 2 examples.
IN RESPONSE to Manager response-really, what was a young kid/server going to do about the food quality? Was the Manager going to go back into the kitchen and re cook the food? And we wait for it? Our party did not eat all of the calamari and did not eat all the "house made bread" despite dipping it in the oil/basalmic mixture. It didn't help it sorry to say.We ate all of our entrees except for the 3 cups of marinara left in the bowl because it was $29.45 for the seafood marinara dish and $31.95 for the whitefish gnocci (prices are per website). We rarely experience negative quality food when dining out and hesitated to write OUR review of Loft because we saw the place full on the top deck on Sunday night. But it is OUR review of OUR experience at Loft. We're sorry to now experience push back from the Manager after writing our review.
A laid-back gem with a great vibe, diverse menu options, and good music, perfect for a casual night out with friends or family.

One of our favorites casual spots to eat or have a drink in Fish Creek. All of the food is top notch. Each menu item is crafted intentionally and includes high quality ingredients. The Kurgan burger is a must. The fried chicken, the Charlie Brown and cod sandwich were also much enjoyed! My kids say the grilled cheese is an absolute favorite, they especially love the 42 sauce on the side. They also request the fluffernutter for “dessert.” My husband is gluten/dairy free and regularly gets the pozole, a favorite for him and the staff now know his order!
Wonderful little market with specialty items. Gluten-free this and small batch that. Non-gmo items plus locally sourced delicacies. Small business charm.
A fun spot with a large playground for kids, delicious ice cream, and a trendy vibe that makes it totally worth the busy crowds.

A must do. Great food, and they do have gluten free buns if you want a burger (and you do). Great ice cream, and a fabulous dairy-free option I'll order even though I have no issues with dairy. Large playground for kids to burn off all the sugar they just ate. It does get very busy, but absolutely worth it.
