Well I have had the best marinara ever!!
The missus ordered a gluten free Vesuvius pizza that lived up to its name. Cooked to her order. Followed this up with a Creme Broulee.
Topped of a Negroni I had a fantastic experience.
One Thai is a hidden gem located on Belmore Road. As soon as you step inside, you'll be greeted by the friendly staff and the mouth-watering aroma of authentic Thai cuisine.
The menu at One Thai offers a wide range of dishes, from classic favourites like Pad Thai and Green Curry, to more unique and flavourful options like the crispy Soft Shell Crab with tamarind sauce. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available, making it a great spot for anyone with dietary restrictions.
The standout dish at One Thai is undoubtedly the Massaman Curry - it's rich, creamy, and full of flavour, with tender pieces of beef or chicken and a hint of sweetness from the potatoes and peanuts. It's definitely a must-try for any curry lovers.
In addition to the delicious food, the service at One Thai is exceptional. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to make recommendations or accommodate special requests. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with a relaxed and intimate vibe that's perfect for a date night or a catch-up with friends.
Overall, One Thai is a fantastic spot for authentic Thai cuisine in Balwyn. With its delicious food, friendly staff, and cosy atmosphere, it's definitely worth a visit.
Stumbled upon this place by accident whilst looking for a place for dinner. They sat us down (two) very quickly on sat night without a booking. They have gluten free pasta and pizza options which are both delicious. Lots of variety and generous portions!
Stumbled across this AMAZING PIZZA SHOP (that is extremely local for us) some time back and have been meaning to write a review. My wife and I are sensitive to both gluten and dairy, and finding a pizza shop that offers a GREAT GLUTEN FREE BASE, as well as YUMMY VEGAN CHEESE, is not easy. This place offers both AND the bonus factor that the pizza is woodfired! A rare gem for sure. Please see my additional comments on how good the gluten free bases and vegan cheese are in the "dietary restrictions" part of my review. We've tried four of their pizzas: meat lovers (pictured), garlic prawn (?), Hawaiian, and BBQ chicken. So far, BBQ chicken has been our favourite - a little less meat than meat lovers, with the added bonus of mushrooms and pineapple. We ask for less pineapple, and then request additional toppings: red capsicum and bacon (also pictured). Toppings are the most generous we've found in all of the pizza shops we've tried, and taste and balance unrivalled. Every single slice is loaded with ingredients. Value seems extremely good too, at just $27 for the above-mentioned pizza! Other stores don't offer anywhere near as much in the way of toppings and quality. I don't believe you will be disappointed if you try Woodfire and Stone Pizza & Pasta, plus you will be supporting a local small family business.
Note: One star less for atmosphere, simply because the shop isn't necessarily "pretty". That's really not a problem IMO though, as the shop is mostly set up for takeaway, and appears to be very clean and tidy. The team also seem to cooperate nicely with one another, as they quietly and efficiently go about making amazing food. No complaints
I have been to McKinly twice now since opening, what a great feed! The sandwiches are amazing, I’ve ordered the cheesesteak toastie twice! I can’t get enough! They also have the best Gluten Free bread in Melbourne 🙌 definitely put it on your list of places to try! It’s our go to in the area now! Great work guys 👌
Foccacia 10/10 taste just like my mother in law’s 🤤
The calamari and charred octopus also absolutely divine, incredibly cooked and paired well with their sauces!
On offer for main was market fish, a duck dish and an incredibly expensive steak - we went for the duck and it was surprisingly really really juicy yet crunchy and perfect?? I would recommend if this is on the menu!
We then had the rabbit ragu pasta - I’m gluten free nowadays - so I can’t really give a relatable review however my partner said he really loved it!!
Next time we’ll try more antipasto as that’s what they’re known for!!!
From the moment you open the door with the crystal door knob, Advocate is simply stunning. We enjoyed the most amazing 9 course degustation meal in the gorgeous library garden. We required gluten free option and chef accommodated. (A large number of GF options already availabe) Mocktails were also amazing. Overall, outstanding atmosphere. Super friendly owner and staff, would highly recommend!!
