Every aspect of The Elephant Tusk was on point. From the customer service to the not-too-loud, unobtrusive music to the food. Especially the food! I had the pleasure of tasting the pineapple fried rice, the slow cooked lamb massanan curry, the pad satay and the roti bread. The flavours were delicious and the food was promptly delivered. My personally favourite was the pineapple fried rice which we ordered with tofu and vegetables and thoroughly enjoyed. Spice levels were fine ( the massaman had a little heat but nothing excessive) and the waitress helpfully directed us to order with 'no spice' if mildness was desired. All the dishes we ordered were easily made gluten free (except the roti of course). Our waitress was lovely, helpful and accommodating, and the atmosphere was peaceful. Ensure you ask a staff member where to find the toilets becuase they are a little hard to find, but clean. Overall this was some of the best Thai I have had and I thoroughly recomend it. Thank you to the staff of The Elephant Task for making our evening wonderful!
Great coffee, friendly service in a cosy, trendy setting. I went there for breakfast. Limited menu and servings were small for the price. The rosti was very light-on and some relish would have been nice to have on offer with the bacon. If you're looking for avocado, I couldn't find any on the menu. There are some gluten free options. When we visited the gluten free bread resembled bought Helga's. Plated food was well presented.
Have now been here twice and will definitely go back again.
Service is always lovely, food is delicious and prices are acceptable.
The do lose a point from 5 star to 4 star because the first time I went I ordered a dish gluten free.
They went to the kitchen and confirmed if it could be done. They came back and said they could change it and make it gluten free.
So in was extremely happy and instantly this place became my favourite Japanese restaurant in the Geelong region.
However, when it arrived I had my suspicions, so I did not eat it and waited for the waiter to serve me again. I then asked for them to just double check one more time to confirm it definitely was gluten free, they checked with the chef and then rushed back out to grab the dish off the table saying there was a mistake.
Now, being coeliac for over 10 years I am very aware of this happening a fair bit, and that is why I always have to double and triple check. And they were very apologetic, as I did make a big deal about it. But I am prepared to give them a second chance and that is why I have since been back again and the second time I had no issues at all.
So I will continue to go back again, but have had to subtract a star from 5 to 4 due to that mistake.
But if you love your Japanese then you will like this place, menu is extensive and they will go out of there way to help you out anyway they can.
Had such a positive experience at this restaurant. I am coeliac and they were patient and accommodating to my dietary requirements. Great service. Food was so fresh and tasty too
A cozy spot with a warm vibe and beautifully presented food, perfect for a memorable dining experience.

Small to medium sized resto with 8-10 tables depending on configuration
Stands out for absolutely delicious and fresh food that is nicely presented (Gluten free option) The customer service is second to none, something that is very hard to find in Australia nowadays. A place that feels warm and welcoming.
Something to improve would be to use stronger fans in the kitchen to suck up the smoke or preventing it from entering the dining area.
Still highly recommend checking out this gem!!
