We came on Wednesday and were served by Luka. He did a fantastic job, was attentive and friendly! I am gluten free and was impressed with the variety of options, I went for the GF fish and chips which was delicious and my mom the pesto gnocci. Overall was a lovely meal and would definitely return! 😊

Very happy with our experiences here. Had a couple of breakfasts and one dinner. Very friendly service and the food was excellent. The Roti was fantastic, and I had breakfast scrambled eggs on one and it was superb - told a friend and she joined us the second time and she agreed. I also had a dinner lamb wrap in a Roti and it was also excellent. To be honest, the Roti is so good you could probably wrap an old shoe in it and it would be good. My wife, who is celiac, simply had to mention it and the staff knew what to modify to make her a meal she'd enjoy. As simply as that sounds, it's not always the case. If I am ever in Pahia again, will be visiting.

A must-visit in Russell! After a day at the beach, my wife, our friend, our two kids (9 and 5), and I stopped by Hone’s Garden, and it was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the barbecue chicken pizza, a gluten-free pizza, and the garlic herb pizza bread with added mozzarella—all were delicious. The salads (Greek, Caprese, and pear) were fresh and flavorful, and the dozen oysters, served simply with a wedge of lemon, were fantastic. The drink options were equally impressive—a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a microbrew rounded out the meal perfectly. The service was excellent—the staff were attentive, answered all our questions, and went out of their way to address our friend's gluten-free concerns. Hone’s Garden is the perfect blend of great food, drinks, and friendly service in a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely be coming back, and it’s a must-stop if you’re in Russell!

The vegan salad was delicious and didn't need the haloumi I added. It was healthy, satisfying, and would have been great on its own. The salted caramel almond slice was also good, and it was gluten-free, vegan, and refined sugar-free. The lemon honey was amazing, especially since I asked for a super strong one and got extra lemon honey ginger syrup and hot water. The staff was friendly. I also found a nice treat for myself at the crystal shop nearby that closes at 1pm.

Great place for breakfast. They have eggs bene a number of ways and a full counter of baked goods, egg frittata muffins, breakfast sandwiches (including gluten free and keto options). Coffee was excellent and friendly service. Plus the view is pretty spectacular! Go back in the afternoon for cake, scones and naughty but nice treats

We were blown away by the service we received when we visited. Our daughter has coeliac disease and the staff were super helpful explaining what she could and couldn't eat. When her pizza was a little late coming out, we were given updates to say it was not far away. Everything tasted great and the restaurant filled up while we were there but this didn't mean a drop in the attention we received. We had originally planned to just get takeaway pizzas and eat on the beach but we're glad we chose to eat in instead. We will definitely be back.

Was happily informed about the specials of 2 large pizzas for $32. It was clearly a popular deal as the place was very busy. Got a table easily enough and was cool to find they offered board games to play. So playing cards was a good option while there was a long wait (though this was because they were down on staff). We got 2 pizzas for kids to share (Spicy Pepperoni and Popcorn Chicken), and hubby and I shared a gluten free Bacon Cheeseburger. The GF base was excellent and they said they made it on site. Menu would be helpful if things were clearer which toppings were GF. (Regular fries were GF, curly fries were not). A good atmosphere, fun looking at the old movie posters and car plates, a bit too many tvs which distracted kids (and adults). Overall worth the good deal if you’re happy to wait.

Very good experience at Charlotte’s kitchen. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was great (but very busy) and the food came out fast and was delicious. Highly recommend getting at least one pizza! The best thing is that they take food allergies seriously. The menu is labeled (eg gluten free, dairy free, vegan etc) so you know what’s what. And the staff always ask the kitchen if you have any further questions. Definitely recommend this place if anyone in the family has dietary restrictions.

My fave place to get Thai! Dine in or takeaway. Able to make lots of dishes gluten free. The pad Thai is the best I’ve had! Plus the pineapple juice is so yum. Staff always friendly and welcoming.

My family had a really nice brunch here! The menu is pretty inclusive with lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. I forgot to take a photo of my meal for the review but I got the vegan spiced mushroom dish and it was so nice! I also had fries with vegan aioli and a flat white with oat milk - also really good! The service was a little chaotic being very busy and a relatively new cafe, so even the staff are still learning what the menu items are - but everyone was super friendly.

Just love ❤️ coming here while in Whangārei. Had lunch the other week, and every order came out on point. There was special gluten / no onion , and some I won't mention special requests. I myself love the seafood chowder with extra bread. (std menu 2 piece bread ain't enough) 😁 Can be very busy at times, so it pays to call n check availability before heading off. Also, try to get a table outside or inside the restaurant. Can get very loud in the outside covered area

Best pho I’ve had in so long ! This place is a great place for a casual date Highly recommend the pho beef and slow cooked special and the salted iced coffee!!! You can get this as a combo for $30 ☺️ Love that this place is available in Whangarei for gluten free / celiac people ! The spring rolls are yummy too.

Ordered take out pizza on our last night in Paihia. Meat lovers and the Hawaiian. Wasn’t expecting much but was super impressed! Lovely bases, both gluten free and traditional with generous high quality toppings. On the pricier side but haven’t had many better pizzas and came out quickly. Highly recommended.

Gluten free options here, bread can be swapped out and some sweet treats on display (caramel slice and brownie). Really enjoyed the caramel slice. Also enjoyed our BLTs and coffee. Lovely people who run the Cafe too very welcoming and eager to please. Would recommend.

Such a great find. My family is gluten free and dairy free and can eat so much here. Last night we had south Indian food and Thai, which were amazing. Great dosa, indo-chinese and thai options, or mix them up. Honestly one of the best retaurants in Whangarei and well priced.

Great food and great prices. Relatively long wait times but they were also really busy so we didn’t mind. Awesome atmosphere with kids playing touch on the field. They had pretty good understanding of gluten free requirements, although one of our starters that was meant to be gf came out with pita bread on it (not gf). Our mains were beautifully presented and really tasty!

Great atmosphere but that's where it ends. They put Gluten Free on most of the menu but only had one option that was actually Coeliac friendly. Do not recommend for people with actual dietary requirements.

Expensive for what you get. Save your $5 extra for Gluten Free and just order a normal pita with no pita as that's all you get. Otherwise meat was good but salads nothing special.

Delicious sides and thick shake Burgers lacked a bit of flavour, could have done with more sauce. Service was not too bad. They had sold out of buns at 6.30 on a Saturday evening and were given gluten free buns as an alternative.

A superb dining experience! Fantastic atmosphere, service and food. Definitely one to go to when visiting Kerikeri. A bonus is that they also have numerous gluten free options. We will definitely be heading back.

Had the best food and experience when visiting Buffalos Roast House! I had my first roast since being diagnosed Coeliac 15 years ago and it was well worth the wait! So happy to have discovered this place and will definitely be back for more!!

Matthias fed 170 of our guests for a 40th on Saturday. He was prompt, easy to deal with and his pizzas were absolutely delicious. There were so many comments about how great they tasted. He made continuous pizzas for almost 3 hours. Everyone was well and truely full and he left a stack of boxed pizzas for later in the evening. We needed a few gluten free options and that was simple and easy to sort and they were made hot for the guests when they arrived. He was reasonably priced, highly recommend him and we will definitely have him back to cater future events. Thank you so much for making the night smooth and easy.

Thank you for your response Tara, I really appreciate it. I'll amend the scores based on my own (non-coeliac!) experience but leave the original review below to give context to your reply. I appreciate that mistakes can be made, unfortunately they can have serious consequences but it appears you know that already! Some do not and don't take it seriously and because the effects are delayed (almost exactly 2 hours for my wife, every time it happens) the customer is usually long gone and the business owner is none the wiser. You also have a frustrated phone message from me waiting for you in the morning (recorded prior to your response) so apologies for that as well! Original review below: Coeliacs DO NOT EAT HERE. Don't label your food as gluten free if you're not sure. And don't advise your customers of gluten free options unless you know what they're talking about.

We are here on holiday at our Bach. The food was beautiful! Perfectly cooked! Fish burger was fresh, using fresh lettuce! I'm gluten-free and they kept my fish separate, cooked on the grill. Awesome work ladies.
