The food is always great and we never have bad service. They even offer gluten free options for my daughter which is why it is my go to lunch place with her.
You MUST stop here!! The portion sizes are healthy to say the least. You will want to either share it be ready to bring home leftovers. All the sauces are GLUTEN FREE!!!! My belly is so full and happy. Kid friendly, celiacs friendly, and just fantastic staff. First time visit but not the last!
Accommodated our meals perfectly for my partner's celiacs disease. The food is fantastic, the service is great and the atmosphere is amazing. One of the best restaurants in Rowan County.
Delicious and reasonably priced small plates leaning towards American/Mediterranean cuisine - you'll want 4-5 for every 2 people. Amazing variety of gluten free dishes (not so much for vegetarians). Great wine and cocktails. Great chill ambience with good music, not too loud for conversation. We hear people come from Charlotte to eat here, and I believe it. Went for dinner on a Tuesday and every table was full.
This is the best place for Italian in the area! They brought out hot fresh bread to the table, I'm gluten free and was never so tempted to just nibble it smelled so good but thankfully my salad came out and that balsamic vingarette was so yummy. I ordered the Pollo picatta with gluten free pasta. . Hands down the best most amazing gluten free pasta I've ever eaten, so delicious when my hubby ordered dessert, I ordered another small bowl of pasta this time with marinara sauce. .I can't even describe how spectacular this gluten free pasta is!!!! Then Chef Santos came over and we tried to convince him to come over to our neck of the woods, but he's so loved here. . I'll just come back!!!!
Our family LOVES Mambo Grill! Because of our gluten and dairy sensitivities we have very few places we can safely eat but Mambo Grill is one of them! Every server we have had has been extremely accommodating and would go ask the chef for clarification on any changes, ingredients used, etc. We have never experienced a food reaction from our meals here.
This is the place we go to celebrate birthdays ❤️
I have to brag on this restaurant. Although in a small town, they deliver on both great food and excellent service. While they don't provide a gluten free menu, the servers are educated enough to assist those with food allergies. And thank you to management for having a separate fryer so that GF customers can eat the French fries! Every time we eat here, the service is attentive and friendly. And I have to admit, I'm a little addicted to their homemade pimento cheese (it's out of this world delicious!) My only suggestions would be to add a GF bun/bread option for sandwiches and add the pimento cheese as a sandwich option to the menu! I can highly recommend this restaurant as we've never been disappointed with the food or the service. I just wish we didn't live an hour away but we'll always visit when in town!
What an amazing business! The staff is so kind, the shop is clean, and the atmosphere is next level! Their ice cream is delicious and the mocha I ordered was the perfect blend of chocolate and coffee (some places try to pass mochas as hot Hershey's in a glass). My friend went in a few hours later and got a Cheerwine cone and she received the same stellar service I did! They also have gluten free goodies.
Being gluten free I seldom eat at Cookout except for milkshakes. Today I decided to try a burger with no bun and discovered it’s totally delish. I get a cookout burger covered with slaw and chili add mayo. I had no reaction and enjoyed my meal a lot. I’ll go back.
From the outside it looks small but when inside it opens up to a good size. Bathrooms were clean!!!! Our waitress was extremely nice and extremely knowledgeable about gluten which is awesome!!!! I'm a celiac and this is a must!! The food was delicious and we got big portions. Prices are great! Restaurant is clean! We will definitely be back!!! Waitress was Aldaneli.
We ordered:
Chimichangas El Patron. Shredded chicken. Rice. Fruit. Cheerwine.
El Patron Special chicken, steak, shrimp in garlic pepper sauce, rice, house salad. Cheerwine.
Love the atmosphere and city take out vibe. The outdoor seating is great! The tacos are my favorite. Only 3 dollars each being very affordable and gluten free cause they are corn tortilla. Be careful the green sauce is spicy if you can't handle the spice. I'd love to enjoy it more less spicy. Order one of their house drinks. They had horchata, pineapple, lemonade.
Yall this place is SO UNDERRATED. Staff were super nice, was only $10/person and food was great and gluten free options! I am shocked they weren’t busier since this is such a good buy and was so good!
When you walk in they have 3 small buffets on the right side one with salad, one with pizza, and one with hot food. They also had a mini table with cookies and bread on it.
Salad items was romaine, carrot, tomato, onion, cucumber, potato salad (one of the best I’ve ever had) , broccoli, cantaloupe slices, eggs, parm and motzarella cheese , and homemade dressing in little plastic cups.
The pizza was tasty according to my husband whom was able to eat it (I am gluten and dairy free)
On the hot bar was spaghetti, meat sauce, eggplant parm, cheese ravioli, chicken chunks, pork chunks, this chicken/potato/pepper/ potato thing that was so good, and these meatballs that were to die for!!!
I appreciate so much that there were gluten free options with the chicken and meatballs being breadcrumb/ flour free. Everything was super good and fresh.
The place was not crowded. We got there at 11:30 and out by 12:30 and total was 6 tables and a whole other side of the restaurant was open and empty. This is not due to quality I think it’s due to lack of advertising, outside signage, and the front of the restaurant looks less welcoming. And open to pull people in so I def wanted to do this review to get more people in there as I will def be back! Try them out for your next Wed-Friday lunch.
I did confirm with them that they are NOT open Monday/ Tuesday/ Saturday/ Sunday and I did update the hours in google.
