Great gluten free baker A real enrichment for Leipzig and everyone who suffers from celiac disease. A small selection of additional vegan sweets/cakes would be great (:

- rep is out of toilet paper ;) Edit in 2022: Has toilet paper again. But seriously: They have rebuilt and you have to find your way around again. I also have to give the make-up area a wide berth because the light there is completely slanted. If they didn't have my gluten free bread I wouldn't go.

Where I'm shopping at the moment. With inflation, I find that it is still the cheapest place of all the stores. There is a very large choice of fruits and vegetables (and they are excellent), as well as drinks and any other section. A large choice in the vegan or gluten-free category for those who need it. I recommend !

Apparently I'm getting old with the basics and have been a customer for a long time: I particularly appreciated the organic offering (I can do without esoteric Demeter) and the offering from small labels, especially in the specialty area (gluten-free, lactose-free, sugar-free ) and from regional (Bavarian) providers. But since the takeover of Basic by tegut (or Swiss Migros), things have been going steadily downhill: the offer that used to be the reason to choose the Basic in the first place is gradually disappearing, and a standard selection of a certain dominant brand is spreading. Regional and boutique items disappear, variety decreases, fruit selection now in plastic packaging, butcher counter monotonous, milk from northern Germany (in Bavaria!!), etc. pp. I understand that tegut wants to standardize the logistics and processes, but I estimate that tegut is only taking part of the strategic position of this branch into account: The competition in the area is high due to alternative, good supermarkets and numerous specialist shops. At the same time, there tends to be a high willingness to pay from selected customers (we are in the center of Munich). Consequently, a position as an everyday supermarket is a wasted opportunity. By the way, the staff at basic are (still have always been) highly motivated, friendly and have a lot of passion. However, in numerous conversations you can tell that there is great frustration with the "theorists at headquarters" who are ruining what was once a good offer. In short: I miss the old basic and notice how I shop more and more at alternative places.

So this shall be a long story. There is the one cheese there i really like and in general i require stores that sell gluten replacement as i cant eat it... So going therenis always nice because they have gluten free options i havent considert or didnt know about before. Unfortunatly they stick very hard to their bio concept and will not sell you anything else. That results in even the basic food, like my favourite cheese, running at an unusual high price. For me that is rather inconvinent as i have to buy basic food somewhere else and then visit here for my gluten free fun stuff. That beeing said i still love going there as they commit hard to their bio theme and seem to be paying their workforce very well. They are always very friendly and take their time for you. So its always a nice if expansive trip there
