Great selection of plant-based, gluten-free and fermented foods as well as supplements. I have been a happy customer for the last two years. However, it is a great pity that the new location at 108 Westbourne Grove is much smaller and does not have the same spacious cafe area with tables for sit-down meals. It used to be a place where I could take my family and friends not just to shop but also to sit down for some delicious lunch (takeaway food/drinks are not an option I am interested in). I hope that the Westbourne Grove branch will return its focus to in-store dining.

Waitrose is one of the most well-regarded supermarket chains in the United Kingdom, known for its exceptional quality, customer service, and ethical sourcing. For those seeking a premium grocery shopping experience, Waitrose often stands out as a top choice. Having shopped there regularly over the past year, I can confidently say that Waitrose delivers on its promise of quality, cleanliness, and customer care in almost every aspect. One of the first things that sets Waitrose apart is the overall shopping environment. The stores are consistently clean, well-organized, and designed with comfort in mind. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted with a sense of calm that is often missing in busier, more chaotic supermarkets. The aisles are wide enough to avoid congestion, and products are clearly labeled and easy to find. Whether you’re looking for basic household items, fresh fruit, or international ingredients, you can navigate the store efficiently. A significant strength of Waitrose is its commitment to quality. The produce section, in particular, is outstanding. Fresh fruits and vegetables are always beautifully presented and noticeably fresher than those found in many other supermarket chains. The same goes for their selection of meats, fish, and dairy products. Waitrose works with British farmers and suppliers, supporting local agriculture while ensuring high standards in animal welfare and sustainable farming. Their dedication to offering responsibly sourced and organic options is visible across all departments, which is reassuring for health-conscious or environmentally aware customers. Customer service at Waitrose is another highlight worth praising. The staff are well-trained, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Whether you’re asking for assistance in locating a product or need advice about ingredients, employees go the extra mile to provide support. Unlike some retail environments where staff seem rushed or uninterested, the team at Waitrose appear to take pride in their work. This level of professionalism enhances the overall shopping experience and helps build trust and loyalty. Another aspect that impresses many customers, including myself, is Waitrose’s ethical business model. The company has a strong commitment to sustainability and community involvement. Their policies on reducing plastic use, minimizing food waste, and supporting fair trade are not just marketing slogans—they are embedded in daily operations. For example, many products are available in recyclable or minimal packaging, and there are regular promotions for sustainably sourced fish and free-range meat. Waitrose also excels in offering a wide range of high-quality own-brand products. Their “Essential Waitrose” line provides great value without compromising on quality, and their premium range offers gourmet products that are perfect for special occasions. From artisan breads to plant-based meals and luxury desserts, the variety and creativity in their offerings are impressive. The store also caters to a wide range of dietary needs, including vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free products, making it an inclusive space for all customers. However, it is fair to mention that Waitrose is not the cheapest option in the market. Compared to budget supermarkets like Aldi or Lidl, prices are generally higher. But in return, what you receive is unmatched quality, service, and peace of mind. For many customers, including myself, that trade-off is worth it. In conclusion, Waitrose offers a superior shopping experience that combines quality, ethics, and excellent customer care. Whether you’re doing a quick weekly shop or searching for premium ingredients for a special meal, Waitrose is a place you can rely on. Its commitment to high standards in everything from food sourcing to staff welfare truly makes it stand out among British supermarkets. While it may not suit every budget, for those who value quality and ethical practice, Waitrose is undoubtedly one of the best choices in the UK retail market

The fresh salad they prepare every week day around mid-day is the healthiest and most delicious, filling lunch you can have if you are around ! Eating it will be truly eye opening experience, equal to travel. Even advanced veggies may be surprised how delicious and varied taste vegetables can be when they are good quality and mixed smartly with various sauces, nuts etc. But come early because you won’t have much choice after 1 pm! Hence my 4 rather than 5 stars — please make more Greek salad and other favs so that they do not run out so quickly 😅 Another plus — gluten free baked goodies. I just cannot not grab a piece of cake when I am there. It’s not good for my wallet though.. The prices recently have been through the roof as far as baked goods and drinks are concerned. But the selection of vegetarian, bio products from vegetables and cheeses to plant based drinks, from dried fruit to spices and from laundry detergents to deodorants is truly one of the best in London.

I LIVE on items from this store. I moved to London two years ago and was shocked at how hard it is to find food items in London that don't have preservatives, etc. In the US, any Whole Foods is guaranteed not to carry any items with preservatives. So discovering Planet Organic was a life-saver, particularly for items that don't have gluten or dairy, and are still unprocessed and healthy. The store is always well-stocked and the cashiers are lovely. My only fear is that at some point the store will close. So I hope that people frequent it, because we need to keep this option alive!!
