Blue on Water Restaurant I visited Blue on my birthday and was treated to one of the finest meals I've had in years. It's rare for an entire meal to be excellent, but this was! The appetizers (Scallops, arancini, beet and arugula salad) were all exceptional - thoughtfully plated, sumptuous and a perfect balance of flavours. The mains (duck, chicken and salmon) were also delicious: seared or crusted on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Accompanying seasonal veg were also toothsome and simply prepared. Desserts (gluten free almond cake and a chocolate entremet) were to-die-for and I don't even eat dessert usually. Pretty as a picture and layered with complementary elements. Our server, Lyndon, and manager Emily provided stand-out service making our evening even more special.

We had an amazing experience. Waitress was attentive, had detail oriented and provided exceptional customer service. Our meal was absolutely delicious and well put together. They successfully accommodated my Celiac requirements, very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend a visit here!

Darlene the owner does a wonderful job of making you feel instantly welcome at the hotel. Recognizing we had been on the road awhile she offered her laundry facilities so we could do our laundry. The rooms are not fancy or large but they are functional, with a great view and comfortable bed. Dinner was great. My partner had the cod and I had braised beef. Our friends had the Crab cakes and salad. The Complimentary breakfast includes two types of scrambled eggs, various bread and buns fruit salad and yogurt. Darlene even had gluten-free bread which is rare in western NL. The rooms are quiet at night even though the hotel is roadside. There is a lounge with full bar, dining room and lobby.

Delicious cod cooked to perfection & delicate, scrumptious chanterelle mushrooms with tasty vegetables.... grilled with no panko especially for my gluten intolerance! And, a chocolate mousse dessert that was also delicious & gluten free! 👍

Food delicious!! Have Celiac Disease, very knowledgeable and served a delicious lunch. Service excellent! Will definitely eat there again.
