Very disappointed! If you are gluten intolerant do not eat here, we ended up in A&E with our daughter.

Just had a meal. The good points, felt welcomed, quirky decor, good gluten free vegan options my food was delicious, son and daughters looked nice. Food cooked well, obvious a good chef. Friendly service, clean, not too noisy.
Not so good points husband had steak and chips it needed veg or tomato it looked very brown, he hates rocket as a garnish i wish i had ordered a side dish of veg for him. Son had a perry cider awful sweet, non of us could drink it for him. Toilet seats odd, car park tight.
My husband wouldn't go again, I would go every night if I could.

We held a 30th birthday party at The Tontine with a group of 16 people and had an amazing time. The staff were so accommodating, even letting me decorate the room beforehand. The food was Michelin star worthy, every meal was suberb, absolutely delicious, the best we've had in a long time! They were able to make nearly every meal on the menu gluten free, and it was excellent. Thank you for a really memorable celebration!

Easy to access from the local Motorway. The local multi-story parking is close by with a short walk through a pedestrian precinct of 100-150m from the car (ideally level 2) to the front door of the hotel. The hotel entrance is a little underwhelming at street-level, with the reception on the first floor. Bedrooms, beds & breakfast (gluten-free, cooked to order) were great as usual for Premier Inn. Free WiFi worked well. One of two lifts was not working, but this isn't an issue when it's quiet. Also had a small issue with the shower head not locking at a good angle, but nothing too major. Noise from the town can be heard in a quiet room, but it calms down at a reasonable hour for sleep. Views over the Christmas stalls in the precinct and the city park to the south were great from our third floor full height window. Our preschoolers loved it & so did we!
