First time visiting this absolute gem of a Greek restaurant! We're moving to Queensland in a couple of weeks and I'm considering cancelling the move, now I've found my favourite Greek place! π€£ Seriously though, everything was really lovelyβthe decor, the ambiance, the food (oh my goodness, the food!) and the service. I really want to give the service 6 stars! Huge shout-out to each of the attentive and friendly wait-staff who looked after us through the evening, Liz, Maddy and Evie, and of course, David, such a considerate and welcoming host. We decided on one of the set menus, and it was magnificent. My dinner friend is coeliac and the girls and David went the extra mile to provide fabulous alternatives, or adjust some of the dishes that we could both eat together. I did take food pics, but they were mostly half empty plates because we dived in, and anyway I'm sure there are loads of excellent food photos here already on Google. So here are a few views of the restaurant itself. I highly recommend this lovely place! Congratulations Gracie Greco team! π

I made an impromptu brunch appointment with my friends today, and found that City Brunch has to be booked in advance. I searched Shanklin cafe decisively. The restaurant's extensive menu features classic Australian cuisine, as well as options for vegetarians and gluten-free eaters. I didn't order one of their signature dishes - "Baked Eggs Shakshuka" hahaha. But I ordered the following delicacies:
π Portobello Mushroom
Two thick layers of fried mushrooms, with golden and crispy skin, and they burst with juice when you cut them open! Served with poached eggs, spinach and secret sauce, it is rich in layers and tastes crispy and crispy like fried pork chops.
π¨ Nutella Shake
This cup is really too sweet! A must-try if you like sweets! Five balls full of ice cream, rich in Nutella flavor, every bite is a sweet hit, even the children who love ice cream can't finish it, it's really fierce!
π Deluxe Chicken Waffle
This dish is very common in Australian Brunch restaurants, and Shanklinβs is also good. The magical combination of fried chicken + waffles, paired with refreshing vegetables, sweet but not greasy at all, the waffles are crispy, and the fried chicken is super tender, an unexpected perfect combination!

I also ordered sandwiches and lamb burgers, both of which were solid and not a surprise, totally worth a try!

Had a mid week lunch here with friends. Cafe style eating areas spread throughout the shop. Interesting Mediterranean menu and good food. Gluten free options. Coffee also good. Reasonable prices. Service ok. Parking difficult to find and time limited.

Looking for somewhere special, attentive and with exceptional food and wine. Ambrosia of Camberwell is definitely one to check out. Right opposite the Rivoli, easy parking in the carpark. Open windows gives an alfresco feel whilst still undercover, just perfect. The restaurant is family owned and run, the staff are knowledgeable and super friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Needing Gluten Free, no worries, very accommodating. Ambrosia is a family favourite and we try to visit as often as we can.
