Visited Coffee Tales in the Jewellery Quarter yesterday while visiting Birmingham. We had the gluten free hazelnut cake and a jacket potato with cheese and beans. We have been in the UK for 3 weeks now and this was the best jacket potato I have had since visiting! SOO good! The gluten free hazelnut cake was amazing, I really liked the Nutella frosting! Plus the portions are huge, definitely good value for your money!

Great place and nice atmosphere. But not impressed with the service or the food it unfortunately for us average.
They were very accommodating and changed our seats.
The first waiter who took our order was good and the petite girl with the dark hair was lovely and they ended up picking up what the two guys who served (didn’t do) the one waiter just put our food on the table in one place without saying what it was or even placing in front of the person who ordered it, he didn’t even know what he was serving one dish was gluten free! He had no clue he didn’t even speak.
The pizza was not sliced well, we asked for a pizza cutter and a steak knife, to which the second waiter said the pizza is sliced and it was not sliced, we had to slice it again! He did not come back with a steak knife nor a pizza slicer. Again another waiter got the steak knife for us
We then asked for the bill and it never came so we had to shout out to him every-time he walked past again nothing. The young girl again came to us when she saw us trying to get his attention.
It’s not a bad place but the service was just not there, when it comes to the food it just depends on your palette.

Came across this delightful cafe while visiting Birmingham Jewellry Quarter. We had the Harira soup, flatbread and a drink. Both were delicious. They catered for ny dairy free and my husbands gluten free diet. Will definitely recommend this cafe.

Little Italian restaurant with a great location next to St Paul Square at just a few mins away from the busy City Centre.
As an Italian I can say the food tastes authentic, furthermore the portions are good sizes and well presented.
The menu also presents plenty of Gluten Free and Vegan options and as stated by the owner, the recipes are completely customizable to meet dietary requirements and taste preferences.
The atmosphere is lovely with the soft light, making it a perfect romantic dinner experience if you would.
The price is fair considering all the above.
100% recommended, I have been there three times and I definitely will come back!
A vibrant spot with a nice ambience, it impresses with super food but could enhance menu clarity and attentiveness during busy times.

Avoid if Gluten Intolerant.
The menu does not contain any indication or options for people who dine gluten-free unfortunately. They do not serve gluten-free pasta for example, and most of the menu items are not gluten-free or cannot be adjusted to be gluten-free.
We raised these concerns and asked to settle the bill for drinks and leave, the restaurant gracefully waived our bill.
A cozy spot perfect for sunny brunches with amazing coffee and a creative menu that adapts to your cravings, definitely worth a visit!

Unfortunately although the menu states that there are gluten free items on the menu, the owner let me know they can’t guarantee any of the food is coeliac friendly. (Double unfortunate as I had eaten there before not knowing this) I would advise removing the gf signifiers from the menu. Serving staff are wonderfully friendly though and nice choice of drinks!
A consistently delightful spot for splendid meals and special events, with a standout team providing attentive service and a warm atmosphere.

Such a delightful experience today . But I must say it always is ! Over the years I have enjoyed many truly splendid meals and attended many special event nights.
Today,my friend Sue and I enjoyed a spectacular feast of salmon followed by the lamb. It was superb and the lamb was to die for !
We were so impressed by the four young men that looked after us . It was great to see the way they worked as a team and supported each other. I caught a little whisper of them reminding each other ‘ clear from the right’ Which they did with such polite aplomb.
I am gluten free and they catered for my needs with confidence and little fuss . We told them how totally impressed we were and they were really chuffed.
Hats off too to the tutors who must be doing a brilliant job. Thank you again for a meal that’s up there with the very best and served so beautifully! Thank you ! Liz
