Lovely service by the wonderful Mia she was very sweet nothing was a problem I’m gluten free always amazing selection never a worry when I eat here! Food came out piping hot. We had Prosecco on the house as we were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary which was a lovely surprise
Very disappointing, as a regular customer before the recent closure and re build, I was very excited when a re opening date was announced. We have specific dietary requirements requiring gluten and dairy free and this was always catered for with the burgers, or fish being tailored to suit.
Alas.. this is not the case any more, gone is the large airy shop, it's now a cramped wait in a rather odd shaped waiting/seating area, and if you glance up at the new look menus hanging over the counter you will see a lot of classic items missing, no OAP specials anymore despite there popularity, no small sausages.. no small medium large options at all! Just small and "standard" whatever that is? It's no standard to a fish and chip establishment that's for sure.
Saddest of all..no gluten free burgers at all anymore, and the burgers they do sell are just plain typical fish shop style, 1 or 2 items in a bun.. no stacks, no onion rings in the burger, no bacon.. all there well known and very popular options gone, and a new beaming manager that's full of his own self importance to happily tell you that the classic St Johns menu you loved is now completely different.
They do serve gluten free chips as standard, and the gluten free fish is still an option, although the serving staff do not understand the importance of keeping gluten free items segregated from wheat and gluten containing products in the same bag! And the fish is taken from a cabinet directly above the chips, allowing all bits of gluten containing batter to fall into the chips....they may as well say they don't cater for gluten free at all now, as there nothing certain about the serving and handling practises at all.
I am struggling to find any good points about my visit, and sadly the only part of the old much loved st Johns fish bar that remains is the name.. the rest is a fraction of its former glory.
I sincerely hope that if anyone in higher places see the new set up that they have the sense to re instate the old manager quickly, as he was a joy to deal with, ever efficient and extremely happy to cater for loyal customers needs, understanding his local customer base very well indeed.
Until such a day, my visits here are now over, and my recommendation to others will be nil.
One very upset and disgruntled long time customer.
Exceptional service and attention to detail make for a memorable experience, with a relaxed atmosphere ideal for any occasion.

As a group of 7, we are a servers nightmare , 2 coeliac and 2 with servere reactions to tomatoes and strawberries but I can say that Danni and the behind scenes team were absolutely outstanding.
Upon ordering, Danni checked and rechecked our allergy requirements and then returned with queries from the kitchen to clarify any requirements,
always professional and with a smile.
The food came in a timely manner and was spot on.
The whole experience was exceptional, service as it should be.
A massive round of applause for Danni and the whole team 👏

Best fish and chips in town. The owner's lovely and always gives a friendly greeting when you walk in. He also does gluten free batter (in a separate fryer - very important!), so you can have any fish on the menu freshly fried and be sure it's safe for someone with coeliac disease. The owner even did me some gluten free onion rings - the first ones I've had in over 20 years! Absolute joy. This place is my weekly treat now - always try to call in on a walk back from the park at the weekend. Love it.
We love Basil's. Jan and her staff are so friendly and attentive to us. Delicious selection of innovative quiches, frittatas & salads, so many tempting sweet goodies, like their gluten free double chocolate brownies. Yummy. We look forward to being able to eat in the cafe again soon. J and C.

Not busy on a Friday at 1.15. Great, tasty Thai based food. Venue chosen as their gluten free offering is very good. No parking adjacent, but plenty in walking distance. Paid £64 for two courses for two ppl each, plus a soft drink each. Recommended.

My family visited here for brunch and my husband and I are both vegan and I’m gluten-free. All of us (kids included) thoroughly enjoyed the food and definitely would go again.

I went to Dodomi earlier this evening and my first intakes were phenominal. The lady serving us was so friendly and was really kind will talking to us about my fathers gluten allergie. I noticed that the food was cooked in the kitchen upstairs as there was a food lift. Our waitress told us that all the food was cooked and prepeared as soon as you ordered it. Overal it was a graet experience and i will defenitly be going there again.
Offering fresh and flavorful options, this spot ensures a delightful dining experience with helpful alternatives and a creative menu.

Had lunch here today. Both of us were gluten free and the staff were extremely helpful in making sure we were able to have alternatives if something was not GF on the menu.
I had the Turkish eggs and the sausage was not GF so that was swapped out for half an avocado. The other diner had a toasted sandwich with GF bread and chips which she said was delicious.
All the food was amazingly fresh, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Fabulous experience. Thank you.
Lovely little cafe, food was delicious and good gluten free, peanut free and shellfish free options. Staff were lovely and had a nice relaxed atmosphere. This is a card only cafe.
Known for its consistently delicious and amazing cake options, this spot is a standout in the world of dessert delights.

I live for The Cake Shed. Always amazing options - and the gluten free and dairy free options are consistently delicious. In a world of drab and dire GF/DF cakes - The Cake Shed always delivers deliciousness. I say this with my full chest. Love you guys.
Expect a cozy vibe with unique menu substitutions, but be ready for limited availability on popular items like antipasti and the homemade tiramisu shines.

Everyone of our friends said this was a great place to go to so having a day off we visited TN1 for some lunch. When we looked at the menu and we couldn't see any indication what dishes were gluten free so when ordering with the waiter we asked if the burger was gluten free, he said he yes (gluten free bun) We waited I think about 15 - 20 minutes for the starter to turn up (I would say there were 5 to 6 other tables in there) when the waiter turned up he only had one dish, we were trying to work out what he was saying and eventually it turned out that my wife's starter wasn't gluten free (chicken satay) having this told to you at this point wasn't a good start. It would have been too late for my wife to order another starter as mine was getting cold (frozen prawn tempura at £9.00)
So a little pissed off we persevered, the waiter didn't come over at all though the meal to ask if everything was alright, I had to get the attention of the lady behind the bar to get some more drinks (she was very polite and hoped we enjoyed the drinks) however a dog that turned up with its owner who was a friend of the owners got more attention from the waiter than we did, what did worry me was that he was stroking and interacting close to the dogs face with his hands and then he went straight to the bar to pick up clean wine glasses and then serve food without us seeing if he had washed his hands. The burger was ok (£17.00) but nothing to write home about. The problem is with today's cost of living when you spend £80 for some lunch you expect it to be to a certain standard. The sad thing is that when you have a bad experience at a place you will certainly tell more people about it. We won't be going back.
A very nice and rustic atmospheric family restaurant run by a charming couple over 13 years now, serving authentic Italian food from Naples. and I need to mention the husband was very pleasing and attentive.
The food was full of flavour, I could smell the aroma from the gluten free pasta I ordered from far away, and the portions sizes were just right.
And the bill was beautifully had written.
We truly enjoyed our dinner and time in this satisfying place.
Tucked away in the Pantiles, this tidy spot offers a delightful menu and attentive service for a memorable dining experience.

A splendid place to eat!
After much deliberation, my partner and I decided on this tidy little place in the Pantiles for an evening meal. What a decision it was!
I must say, the staff were tremendously helpful and gladly presented us with beautiful food in good time.
Although I was somewhat disappointed at the lack of gluten free options, the staff were quick to recommend a range of dishes that would be appropriate for my partner.
The food itself was delicious. We ordered a wide variety of dishes to share, sampling most of the menu, before each indulging in a larger dish.
Overall, I would highly recommend Kumquat restaurant if you find yourself in the Tunbridge Wells area!
A charming spot with inviting outdoor seating, a welcoming ambiance, and a diverse menu for everyone, perfect for a cozy visit.

HEALTH WARNING. My wife suffers from Coeliac Disease and was made very ill by Merino's supposedly gluten free fish and chips.
The owner was extremely unsympathetic when informed.
