Great price for the huge portions. The service was nice and they had a lot of gluten free options. I have celiac disease and the chilli with rice was perfectly fine!

excellent service and gluten free options! staff were super welcoming, the mocha was delicious, would heavily recommend the bagels, this place is definitely worth a visit if in the area. Very accommodating to both and gluten free options and offered substitutions to dietary needs. Also very nice garden at the back to sit in.

OK, before I start a rant, let's get a couple of things straight: 1. The, what I will call the bar manager isn't to blame here and was seemingly embarrassed by what happened (so a thank you there), and 2. Whilst busy, the establishment wasn't overcrowded. So, to business..... Having arrived in Callander for a 2-night stay, we wandered about a bit and looking for a bite to eat dropped into The Waverley to see what they might offer. Success, ir so we thought - one of my party us gluten-free and they had a gluten-free menu! So we ordered, and my partner, who is the gluten-free member of the party, ordered the steak meal with the jacket potato and a side of veg. Dinner arrived, and whilst overall not the best, she spotted onion rings on the plate - bear in mind here, she is gluten-free. She immediately questioned the "chef" who had served the meal who said they were indeed gluten-free (so no alarms, or so you think), and continued to flap about with sauces (she ended up with mayonnaise as an aside). Meal eaten, noting it wasn't either the greatest or indeed the hottest meal she'd had, and she began to feel symptoms of gluten intollerance! She popped to check with the chap we have called the bar manager, who seemed to go a funny shade of pale and went straight to see the kitchen staff. The upshot of that is the onion rings did indeed contain gluten; way too late now of course, but at least there was an admission of guilt as it were (thanks again to the bar manager) and the charge for the entire meal was refunded (again, thank you). Luckily, my partner doesn't suffer immediately bad symptoms, but this could, of course, have been a lot worse. So, in summary, avoid this establishment! Whilst front of house staff do care, it is clear that the catering team haven't got a clue what they are doing, and sadly, that drags the whole establishment down.

We stopped here to have a bit of lunch. Lovely cafe, great atmosphere ( coffee bean bags on the roof) , quirky toilet and we loved our lunch. It was a nice touch to get an extra piece of gluten free sandwich ( as the bread is always smaller than normal bread). We will definitely return. P.S A word to the wise - there were a couple of women who came in from the side door and used your toilet . They did not buy anything. I had to wait for the toilet and I was buying food from your cafe. I think you should monitor your side door or lock it. Staff need to pay attention to who are coming and going.
