My girlfriend and I stopped here on an M22 day trip for lunch. One of our other options in Manistee was closed and it lead us to this little shop that I’m very glad we stopped at. Not only did it have options for my girlfriend for gluten free food, but it was also delicious. For the 2 of us we spent no more than $25. The food was really good (i ate it before i could take a picture) the vibe the place had was so nice and everyone was super friendly. We will be back next time we’re in Manistee :)
Set within a historic inn, this cozy pub features a dark, Irish pub-style lower level with a fireplace that creates an inviting atmosphere. It offers a laid-back, cozy experience with a dog-friendly outdoor seating area, making it a welcoming spot for gluten-free diners seeking comfort and charm.

In Manistee to golf, we decided to try Big Al's. At 7:22 pm we paid for my sub on a gluten free roll and a Chicago style pizza. About 10 minutes later, my sandwich was delivered. At 8:10 I went to the counter to find out where the pizza was. It had not been made. I had been nibbling at my sandwich so that I could eat when the pizza was delivered. The owner (?) gave me my money back for the pizza and offered to make the pizza anyway, but by then my husband was beyond frustrated. So we were out.
I posted a picture here of my sub. I was trying to make it look as appealing as possible. The chicken on my sub was sliced??? I guess I am not used to a chicken sub done that way.
We chose to dine in. It was almost as warm inside as outside.
The place does a brisk carry-out business. If we give them a chance again, I will have to ask about the rest of our order when part of it gets delivered.
