My husband and I went on a weekend getaway to Johnson City. We ate here last night and it’s our new favorite restaurant. It’s a fun, lively place. Our waiter, Donoven was wonderful, and the food is out of this world. I have a gluten allergy, so I got the cauliflower crust Greek to Me pizza. I took one bite and I said, “This is hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had!” They make the cauliflower crust in house and it is so good! My husband had the Big Johnson and he said it was delicious!
We are now driving back to Johnson City to come back here for my husband’s birthday next month and we are already counting down the days! :)
A must-stop along 281 for its amazing Blazing Glory hamburger on a jalapeño bun, and the line is worth the wait!

Great food! We make a point to stop here for a meal whenever we are on 281 in Blanco over the past 5 years or more. If we go during peak times we know that there will be a line & still choose to go because it’s that good! The Blazing Glory hamburger on a jalapeño bun is so GOOD!
(Gluten Free bread is an option and it is actually good!)
The spinach Swiss omelet with added mushrooms and onions is perfection ($10.40 comes hashbrowns and toast)! The scrumptious pancakes (a vanilla muffin) were huge and fluffy. The waitress Valen was perfection in assisting someone in my group with celiac. The building inside immaculate with old word charm. It was a highlight to enjoy this gem.
Expect fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a fun vibe from the skilled chefs at this unique spot with impressive flavor combinations.

Wow. Best fish tacos and tostadas I’ve ever had. The chef & owners were so fun to talk with and very knowledgeable about where their product comes from, knew every ingredient and source, the kind of thing you wish you got everywhere. I’ll be stopping in every time we drive up this way!! Too bad they don’t have bold and underline for reviews on here 😜 check it out!!! They had vegetarian mushroom options and gluten free options for my little brother and he was very impressed as well 🙏🔥🙌 10/10

El Rey #2: A Hidden Gem on the Texas Road Trip!
El Rey #2 in Henly, TX isn't just a restaurant, it's a delightful pitstop for any traveler. After a long drive from Austin, my family and I stumbled upon this gem, and let me tell you, we were blown away!
Five-star flavors: The food is where El Rey #2 truly shines. Authentic Mexican dishes bursting with flavor, all prepared fresh. We especially loved the fajita rellena, but everything looked incredible. Bonus points for having a fantastic selection of gluten-free options that didn't compromise on taste!
Family feel, friendly service: The warm atmosphere felt like stepping into a family gathering. The servers were incredibly kind and attentive, making sure our every need was met.
Relaxing retreat: El Rey #2 offers something for everyone. Comfortable seating lets you unwind after a long journey. While the adults enjoyed the full bar, the kids had a blast playing pool.
Perfect for road-trippers: If you're looking for a delicious, family-friendly restaurant to refuel on your Texas adventure, El Rey #2 is the place to be. Highly recommend!
Smoothies here are a must-try, plus there are fun games for kids and a cozy atmosphere, making it a delightful stop for everyone.

Stopped in for some amazing smoothies! The Monkey Business was great with Oat Milk the Sunrise was excellent as well. I love that they have alternative milks and even some gluten free options!
Classy joint, where the owner is currently doing everything himself. Awesome crepes, including gluten-free savory ones, organic delicious gelato with incredible flavors, and French pressed coffee, in a French themed restaurant in blanco. Who knew? Warning, it's currently only open on Sunday or Monday, but I highly recommend you visit and check out a new place to eat in Blanco Texas.
