I love this place for its food and its people. The food is consistently great and made with fresh ingredients. If we want a home cooked meal but don’t want to cook then we head to SAWA. Plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options - all marked clearly on the menu.
A local gem with an unbeatable weekday lunch buffet, offering a wide variety of delicious options and a great value.

Most restaurants prefer we go elsewhere (one vegan and one gluten-free). Not Himalayan Taj. They were incredibly gracious, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The options for both of us were extensive. Even better, the options were delicious. We had amazing appetizers, soup, salad, and entrees. Service was wonderful. Nice wine list, too. So glad we found this local gem of a restaurant.

Not good. Found gluten noodles in our gluten free ramen. My gluten intolerant friend is going to be really sick tomorrow. Sushi was lacking (three pieces plus two ends does not constitute a roll?) and fell apart when picked up with chopsticks. Small portions and overpriced compared to other places I've been... I don't like going home hungry. Atmosphere is cramped and surfaces and floor was grubby. Our waitress was kind enough, but not much else to like about this restaurant. Had already looked the place up beforehand and was looking forward to it, but just not the quality as you would expect from a place like this.
Right next door to Dunkin', which was not open for dine-in when we went—but Schlotzky's is. We went here on a Friday afternoon.
Nice, quiet place to sit and work. There are power receptacles at some tables for your devices. When you're really in the mood for something sweet, there are Cinnabons a plenty here. I had the turkey salad, and while it's not earth-shattering amazing, it's a very nice mix of ingredients.
Initially, when I learned about this place, I found their website says they carry gluten-free pizza. That caught my interest, since not many joints around the Bay Area/El Camino area have nice gluten-free pizza. I called, and while they (yes, this Schlotzky's) thought they carried it, after asking for several days in a row, it seems like they don't get shipments of that crust. Oh well.
I NEARLY was impulsive to give them 2 stars for not being as advertised online (I mean about the pizza—nothing else!), but I'm glad I held off on it, because when we came in here, we actually ended up enjoying the dining experience that it doesn't matter as much either way.
Enjoy a surprisingly delicious pizza experience here, complete with a great salad bar and a fun drink selection that makes it a must-visit!

Gluten Free pizza y'all!! I was shocked! It was delicious too! $3 upcharge, but that is a normal thing and it was so nice to be able to eat pizza as everyone else did! Destinee was extremely helpful to us inviting us in, explaining things, checking ingredients and checking on us during our meal! She was delightful! Good salad bar and nice choice of beverages! I'd go again!
The meat is so tender and moist and tasty!!! Met the General Manager, Alfredo and he was very kind and accommodating for me and my dad. Also very attentive to my serious gluten allergy and I am so appreciative. We love eating here. Thankyou so much!
