A beautiful hole in the wall sushi spot that will blow you away. I became acquainted with the hungry sumo a few years ago when I would order their lunch bentos while working in the area. Since then, I have been dying to get back and try the food at the restaurant proper. It took several attempts as the restaurant is on the smaller side, so seating is limited, but I assure you it is well worth the wait. The homey atmosphere paired with the expertly prepared food makes for an incredible evening. As if that wasn't enough, they offer some gluten-free options, which allowed a friend to enjoy the first sushi night out in a while as a celiac. We will definitely be returning whenever possible!

Excellent food and service. They were able to accommodate my girlfriend’s celiac order, made gluten free teriyaki beef stir fry. The chef came out to make sure she was enjoying it, and she was. I had the spicy pork stir fry and it was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful service - I asked the waiter for hot fish sauce and they brought it w/a cautionary warning. It was the perfect complement to my Beef Noodle Bowl. It was also my first time trying the dessert, Osmanthus. It is clear gelatin flavoured with the flowers of the same name. It tastes of very light apricot with a hint of piney greeness. It is a perfect low calorie, gluten free dessert to cleanse the palette or as a way to cool oneself in the summer.
A creative combo of quality hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and tasty dipping sauces, plus a personal touch with handwritten notes makes this spot a must-visit!

This was SO DELICIOUS. Whoever thought to combine (quality) hot dogs, chicken nuggets and rice flour (hoping it was gluten-free): you did the right thing 😂. Also, thank you for the handwritten note. I'm celiac and ordered beef with vietnamese noodles. Got a call pretty soon after letting me know that all their meats are marinated in hoisin and won't be gluten free, and asked if they could give me an alternative to the meat, plus an extra treat for my inconvenience. I got a HUGE portion of tofu replacing the meat, like a steak sized amount, and a summer roll. The tofu was super tender and delicious. Excellent customer service and delicious.
