My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for awhile, so when we had some visitors from Europe recently we decided to take them here to sample some of the cultural diversity of our city.
The lush green velvet seating is gorgeous, but our visitors found the hard wooden booth and plain white walls where we were seated uninspiring for taking photos, which is a big part of the experience for them lol.
I’m gluten free, and there was exactly one item in each of the menu categories I could have, so that’s what I ordered. Disappointed that there were so few choices, but I did enjoy the edamame, jap chae, and bibimpap. Our server was helpful in deciding what to order, and we got a selection of items to share, everyone loved the chicken teriyaki and pork dumplings and duk bokki. It was more spice than our visitors were used to, but they liked exploring the new flavors. The plum drop martini was refreshing, but Crisp Dragon was our favorite drink, great tropical flavors. We had to track down our server and ask for more water, it wasn’t refilled throughout the meal.
All in all a fun experience and interesting new place to try.

I wasn't expecting a lot when I was invited to dinner inside of a casino, but I was so impressed with everything at RuYi! First of all, parking was very easy, thanks to the immense parking garage attached to Potawatomi. When you get to the second level skywalk, it's east to find the restaurants.
Despite the flashings, whirs, and music, of the room full of slot machines, as soon as you enter RuYi, you feel like you're at a Japanese restaurant anywhere else. The red walls make the space feel cozy while the tables are spread out enough that you aren't bothered by any other groups.
We tried a good variety of the food. The $1 sashimi (deal only available on Wednesdays) was really great as appetizers or to share. The Japchae with shrimp (Glass noodles, egg, shiitake mushroom, carrot, bok choy, bell peppers, sesame seeds) was incredible! Without shrimp, it was vegetarian/dairy free/gluten free. And I had leftovers that were still amazing the next day.
The seaweed salad was one of the freshest I've had. And the drinks were fun to try, since most were made with very good sake.
Highly recommend if you want to try a new place or just to see what Potawatomi has to offer.
I was SOOO happy to have stopped in here during a recent trip to Racine. DELICIOUS!! And our party of 8 (including vegan and gluten free) were all very happy. Can’t wait to get back to Racine to go to Asiana again
