Really enjoyed my first visit to the Ballet Wine Bar , which is situated where Bracegirdles was previously located on Jetty Road .
The atmosphere is relaxed and subdued , with many bottles of wine gracing the shelves .
You can either sit at the bar or in the more relaxed lounge seating , and the background music adds to the ambiance.
I must say I was quite impressed with the food offerings- it’s not a large extensive menu by any means but it does seem to have options for most dietary requirements.
I ordered the arancini with a beautifully smooth black truffle sauce. The rice was fluffy and flavoursome with a crunchy coating , and the flavour was spot on .
Also ordered the zucchini flowers - beautifully accompanied with whipped ricotta - the artfully plated and morsels tasted almost like crunchy nut cornflakes with the addition of the honey . Both of these offering were gluten free.
I also had a spicy margarita which was extremely smooth with a great chilli kick , and the first time for a white negroni which was also a taste experience.
So even if you don’t drink wine they have you covered here .
I did have a lovely glass of red from the McLaren Vale area , unfortunately I can’t remember its name , but it went down well as my friend and I sat soaking up the atmosphere as we didn’t want to leave .
Service was excellent and the staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Very much enjoyed the experience!
