California Pizza Kitchen at Sarasota

Awesome pizza, very unique and tasty pizza selection and variety. (Regular classics and Thai/Mexican/etc). The best customer service of any restaurant ive been to, every time i go there. Restaurant manager and servers are super attentive, friendly and pleasant Very consistently excellent food and service, never disappointed. Also gluten-free options for people with Celiac's.

CPK Sarasota has a very rude manager, and the food quality is very poor in comparison to the Tampa location. I decided to give this place another try when my husband wanted a gluten free pepperoni and sausage pizza. I received a pizza covered in mushrooms instead and called the restaurant to request a refund. The manager was remarkably rude and then hung up on me. He seemed annoyed that I called at all, barked at me while calling me Teresa, and then hung up on me. It was definitely intentional-the whole thing could have been SNL skit. I called back to finish the conversation, and the guy was still rude since he scored in the negative for E.Q., but he did clarify that I was receiving a refund. Here’s the reason I took my time to write this review: it’s not about the pizza or the $24--whether the charge is $24 or $24,000, I do not do business with rude people, and you shouldn’t either. There are some incredible small businesses in Sarasota who serve better pizza anyway, and most of them appreciate their customers(like Origin Pizza!). Rude managers like this lack appreciation for the patrons who support their paycheck because they don’t have what it takes to build their own business. Bye, CPK Sarasota! 👋🏼
