With so many upscale classy real indigenous restaurants in Manhattan & their food being authentic, from various countries & being top shelf? Carmines really needs to get their shi☆ together or they need a new chef. My friend & I cook better authentic Italian than what we were served. And? There was hair in my mouth from the pasta plate. The chef was seen 3x walking around the dining room with no head wrap on. The meal was tasteless. It was my birthday to make things worse. We then ordered a salad. The salad luckily was better than the pasta. I joked before we went, & compared the olive garden to what I thought they'd be like being that I heard they were so good? but I grew up in an Italian & French family, so I know great authentic cuisine. That was not it. It was soft garlic, hard broccoli & & too aldente corn gluten free pasta. It sucked. Olive garden is better. No wonder the entire room was empty, & for anyone who's been to the UWS location? you know the room is huge. Maybe chef Ramsey needs to pay your restaurant a visit & do a do-over & teach your chef how to cook authentic Italian. It had zero flavor. The waiter lacked customer service & kindness skills. The only good thing? The manager came to the table & tried to apologize & she took it off the bill. I was disappointed because I really had a tase for good Italian good. They missed the mark. I won't be back either. Nothing special. For $100? We could've dined at a much more authentic & real cozy Italian Restaurant. Even Pomodoros is soooo much better on Columbus Ave on the uws
