Gluten friendly it is not. If you have celiac you won’t be able to eat here, period.
My family decided to eat here because usually Mexican restaurants are easy to navigate with a gluten intolerance. This was probably the most difficult restaurant I’ve ever visited, aside from maybe a bakery. The manager said they recently changed their roasted chicken and it now contains gluten, so there was not a single protein I could eat. That was a challenge I’ve never encountered. The queso had it. Even the ranch dip on the table contained gluten—which I ate prior to the manager letting me know— it never occurred to me ranch might have it. Again, something I’ve never seen before.
I will say the staff was extremely nice about it, which is why I didn’t take the review under 3 stars. They even comped my meal for the issues (the first dish they brought out clearly had ingredients the manager mentioned had gluten) and never charged me for the guacamole taco they had to replace it with, which was completely unnecessary but appreciated.
If they had just one protein option it would’ve been an completely different experience. I’ve never been to a sit down restaurant where I couldn’t even order a protein—-usually it’s the go to fallback. With it being such a common issue, I hope one day they can try to be just a little accommodating, especially given that it’s widely assumed a Mexican restaurant will have plenty of options.
