Cold Creek Inn

We love Cold Creek Inn and all of the wonderful staff! The food is good quality American fare with an “up north” twist. However, this year the menu stated clearly that the chicken tenders were gluten free- with 2 in our family who have celiac, everyone was excited. We ate our food, it tasted good, and went home. Unfortunately, our family who ate the tenders both experienced a stomach ache. When we went back late in the week with a different server, those with celiac went to order the chicken again. Thankfully, this server (Jake) let us know: the chicken tenders are NOT gluten free! For us, who have mild celiac, the worst is a bad stomach ache and some time in the bathroom. For others, this could mean a hospital trip!!! Just be aware when ordering they are not knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity and be sure to make it clear to your server the severity of your disease/allergy.

This review is for the restaurant and not the inn as we did not stay there. We were in the area celebrating my in-laws 50th anniversary, and I could not have been more pleased with the waitstaff, owner, and our meals. There were 17 of us, several of whom have severe food allergies/celiac disease and everyone there bent over backwards to accommodate us! For this reason alone I wish I could give them 6 stars. On top of this, our meals....literally each meal...was delicious. We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area. Thank you again!
