Garlic Rose Bistro

I've never been as impressed with customer service as I was tonight at Garlic Rose. I called ahead yesterday to ensure that they had gluten free pasta for my friends with severe allergies. They said they did so I made reservations for tonight. Unfortunately we were told by the owner Mark that they ran out earlier in the day 😪 Without hesitation and without prompting Mark immediately ran to the grocery store to pick up gluten free pasta for us! Our waitress Denise even called him while he was out to suggest he bring gluten free bread as well for us to enjoy. We were floored by their thoughtfulness and willingness to go out of their way without even being asked. Thank you Mark and Denise!! I have always loved the Garlic Rose, but this had solidified the fact that we will be patrons for life! 🥰

I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars. The Garlic Rose is a nice place for dinner with a colleague or a friend. The decor seems a bit dated, but the food was very good. I had clams and garlicky chowder. Both were tasty and the clams were cooked perfectly, which is no small feat. They do serve wine, beer and spirits, and when you arrive they give you bread and roasted garlic, which is a nice touch. The wait staff is friendly, too. They do not have much in the realm of vegetarian options, which is disappointing, and the are zero gluten free options on the menu. After 6pm, the lot behind it is free, and there is a back entrance for ease.
