I decided to give this place a try since it has seems to be highly rated by both people and publications. Granted it says steakhouse in its name I decided to go a different route for my menu choices which may have led to my average experience. First off a major point of note was how friendly and attentive my server was and in fact all the servers near my table. I never needed a refill on my drink nor did I ever find myself unable to locate anyone, service A+. So I went with the asparagus steak bacon app to start and it was the highlight of my meal. Very delicious and the steak around the asparagus was a welcomed variation I had never experienced and will definitely try to replicate at home. The dipping sauce balsamic reduction is rich and sweet and savory, delectable and a must try with this dish. I actually found myself thinking about other foods I would love to try it on, it was yummy. Next up was the skewered shrimp wrapped in bacon and I subbed the side for Brussels sprouts which I though I had inferred I wanted the appetizer version but that was not what I got. I took the shrimp off the skewers in the picture so you can see relative size of them as the menu calls them large. The shrimp were good and the bacon added a nice smokiness to them. They were also cooked well and possible closer to well done but I assume the chef was trying to get the bacon to a crispness prior to pulling them from the grill. The Brussels sprouts on the other hand were swimming in a puddle of oil and were severely over cooked. They were very soft I didn’t need to chew them, furthermore the river of oil made them very unappealing and I couldn’t bring myself to eat anymore than the top layer of five or six. I’m a Brussels sprout super fan when they are prepared right and this dish made me sad inside. Finally I decided to opt for Jimm’s brownies minus the scoop of ice cream as you can see in the photo. I was full but though I should do my due diligence and experience the desert menu. It was good, very good, but be forewarned it is dense almost like the gluten free choc cake type dense and rich. I’m sure the vanilla ice cream scoop would have been a welcomed balance to the plate but I opted out this time. The secret star of this plate is the dollop of peanut butter mouse tucked on the side of the brownie. You MUST scoop this up and smear it across your brownie before consumption, you will thank me and it’ll make sense once it hits your lips! All in all a decent spot that probably has great steak and if I return I’ll give one of their cuts a go. As for the purpose of this review...pass on the Brussels sprouts and only get the shrimp if you really don’t want steak.
