Nue was a very pleasant dining experience and certainly elegant compared to any other Vietnamese restaurant.
The service was excellent and our waiter Dylan was pleasant and educated us on the menu and made good suggestions.
Our meal started with snow crab soup, which was delicious and included quail eggs. This was followed by bitter Mellon seafood salad with shrimp and octupus, another very good appetizer.
A number of specialty cocktails were available and I enjoyed a mango sticky rice, which was a bacardi based refreshing cocktail.
Braised short ribs was our initial entree which came with pappardelle noodles. As I was looking for a gluten free option, they substituted jasmine rice. It was very tasty, while the original dish with noodles looked even better. The wild Spanish octupus was our next selection. The presentation was lovely and the sauce was wonderfully seasoned and complemented the well grilled dish.
We selected tropical Che for desert which was a most refreshing combination of mango, Lychee and pineapple.
All in all a very enjoyable dining evening that certainly deserves a strong recommendation to friends and a return. While I rated the food a "4," ideally it deserved a 4.5. When I return in the future and try some of the other dishes, such as the crispy whole fish, I expect the rating to increase.
