Ordered gluten free biryani, which basically removes the fried onions scattered around the dish. To many, this would not be obvious but I had asked previously what makes the biryani not gluten-free by default. In the past, they’ve handled this excellently.
However, I recommended this restaurant to a friend who is more sensitive to wheat than myself and ordered them a gluten free biryani for delivery.
I opened it to find tons of fried onions on top and advised them to call the restaurant to confirm it is gluten free. The man who answered the phone advised just eating around the onions - although not possible considering there’s dozens of tiny particles throughout the rice. After already hanging up on my once, I called back and was apologized to and was told he’d call me back after speaking to a manager.
Twenty minutes pass and I didn’t receive a phone call back. I called Nasha again and spoke to a woman who refused to acknowledge whether or not the kitchen had made a mistake, apologize, or do anything to ensure that this same mistake would not happen again. She tried to overtalk me and cut me off, insisting I contact doordash.
I made it clear I was not as concerned about the money as I was about the fact that other people may be unknowingly eating wheat when they’d specified gluten free and that the kitchen needs to take this seriously.
I doubt I will ever return to this establishment based upon this poor customer service experience and advise people to look elsewhere.
I’m unfortunately expecting a rude response from the owner as is evidenced by them being disgruntled by any negative review left on their google maps location page. However, food allergies are no laughing matter and the conduct of your staff was unforgivable.
