Prime: An American Kitchen & Bar

My Family came out to the Island to celebrate Dad's birthday. I chose this place because it's close to home and has gluten free options. As a mother of a child with allergies, it's hard to dine out sometimes with a crowd. I am giving four stars because I had to leave early. My son was having a rough night. I didn't even get to eat. So why 4 stars you ask if I didn't even get to eat. . . Well from the time I walked in, from the valet, to the hostess to the server, they were all extremely patient, courteous and friendly. You have the dining out experience with a touch of a family type atmosphere if you will. The valet waited patiently while I took my son out of the car and offered to help with the stroller and bags. I didn't accept because it a one button closure. I decided to leave it anyway. The hostess came over while waiting in a little nook near the bar to ask if I needed a glass of water while I waited for my party to arrive. The server took the time to explain the wine by the glass to my inexperienced father and did not make him feel like a novis at all. This place is beautiful. From the entry with the large double doors, wood and metal chandeliers that add charm and a sort of rustic touch. There is a sitting room with a fire place. Feels like a good place for an after dinner cognac if that's your thing. Oh, as I was leaving, the hostess thought my little guy needed a diaper change and followed me out, offered to get two chairs for me to comfortably change him in the restroom. What great attention to detail. Stellar place. Excellent service. I cannot wait to return. Hope fully my little guy will have a better night and I will actually get to eat. Witg such great attention to detail in service, I can only imagine how good the food must be. P.S. I did hear the veal was amazing from my Dad. Try it.
