This is one of my all time favorite places to go in n traverse city. It is right downtown. They have great sushi. Everyone is pleasant. Bar is always packed. Their menu offers suggestions for vegetarian and gluten free.

Red Ginger is very good for an upscale sushi experience without too much of the intrusive, “hip” elements you’d find at comparable places. Highly recommend grabbing a reservation ahead of time as it can be busy. A bit loud at peak times, but not the worst I’ve experienced by any means.
Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options are clearly labeled which earns big points for me. Our service was solid and we never went without refills.
You can get a similar culinary experience and often a cheaper (and slightly tastier) sushi roll at other places, but this is a downtown restaurant in a very touristy part of Michigan.
This was great for a fancy outing on a casual visit to Traverse City for us.
